You finish the morning chores in record time, giving Bill the cold shoulder the entire morning. Once your obligation to the house is done, you tell Bill briskly that you're heading to town for some things and you'd be back later. You give him strict orders to not leave the house unless it's an emergency. You gather your things then head out. Bill doesn't speak a word to you as you leave.
You spend the walk to town clearing your head. You run a frustrated hand through your hair and groan to the open air. "Ugh! Fucking demons!" You shake your head and continue forwards, deep in your own thoughts. It's just your luck that you have to live with the most infuriating creature known to humankind, especially one that likes to pull you every which way emotionally. It's like you're dealing with a new Bill every hour and you don't have a clue which one will show up next. It's infuriating.
You kick a stone near your foot and watch it skitter across the ground and hit a tree. You're not asking a lot when you just want Bill to be understanding. It's not like you want to lie to everyone and throw them under the bus. You're just trying to preserve your relationships as best you can. You kick another rock and it disappears into some brush on your left. You huff in anger and kick a slightly larger stone, watching it roll only a few paces then stopping. This only seems to anger you more.
After angrily trudging through the woods for a bit, grumbling under your breath all the while, you finally make it to town. You already know this is only going to sour your mood more so you quickly step onto the sidewalk and make a fast-paced venture to the grocery store. It’s a trip you tend to avoid most of the time since you have your own garden at home, but there are some items you just can’t grow nor have the livestock for, so it’s an inevitable reality.
You grab a cart and start to wander, grabbing the essentials: Milk, eggs, baking ingredients, and so on. It helps to distract you as you busy yourself by thinking of the items needed at home. Some people purposefully avoid you as you go down the aisle, but you choose to ignore them rather than start anything. You drop groceries into your cart and continue on your way.
As you walk around for little items that you need, you spot a shelf stacked with boxes of store brand cookies. You reach for one box with the thought of Bill at the forefront of your mind. He does like snacking after all. Just as you grab ahold of the plastic wrapping, you pause. It is just now you remember exactly what condition you left the house in not even two hours ago.
You sigh and pull the treat off the shelf, holding it in your hands as you inspect it. Okay, so maybe you were being a little dramatic at the house. Sure, you value your friend’s trust but you also have to remember Bills’ trust. After all, revealing your plans to the wrong person could mean his chances of getting his powers back to none. You can only imagine how he’d feel about that. He’s been a demon his whole life, being human for so long has clearly completely thrown him off his game. Plus, he has no reason to trust any of the Pines anyway since they were a key to his failure of Weirdmaggedon. It’s only natural that he thinks they’re going to destroy him all over again.
You throw the cookies into the cart a little aggressively. You’re starting to get less frustrated by Bill and more by the fact that you keep having to play both sides of the coin constantly. You hope everyone will be on the same side eventually or else you’re subject to possibly lose your mind. Either way, hopefully bringing Bill back some snacks will lessen the tension you left behind. And a good, clean apology too of course.
You finish your shopping and gather the groceries into small bags for you to carry home. You dash out of the store and shrug the bags further up your arms to make carrying them easier since you have a whole trek through the woods to get through. You sigh to yourself for a long journey ahead before you start walking. You spend the trip thinking of what you can possibly say to Bill as an apology. There’s no doubt in your mind that he’ll be in a very pouty mood when you get home.
