Chapter 7

Hikari's POV December 10th, 2026

Was It True?

"He needs to go and you know it, Keo!"

   I sat up in bed and tried to force myself to be fully awake. I drank some of the water from the water bottle by my bed, hoping that it would help wake me up more. I stood up and decided to go out to see what all the yelling was about. Ketsueki did say that I could go basically anywhere after all. I walked over to the door and opened it. The yelling immediately got louder and less muffled. I walked outside into the hall and started to wander around, trying to find where the arguing people were. I walked to the end of one of the halls and turned the corner. I found a group of people in suits wearing 3 kinds of masks, 3 were black and blue and the other 3 were white and red. All of them had a variety of weapons on their waist hips and on their sides, one was holding a phone and talking to someone, and Ketsueki was in front of them. I decided that I probably shouldn't get involved so I hid behind the wall and listened.

"He's not going! I don't care whether you like it or not, I lead this team and I can make my own choices." Ketsuki said through clenched teeth walking closer to the person who was originally yelling

"He's just a fucking replacement and you know it! You'll only be half of what Akio was!"

"You never fucking mention Arrow or Akio again. You'll be dead before you can even be half of what they both were.!" Ketsuki growled giving a death glare to the shorter male in front of him

A female came in the middle of them. She had white wings along with white-winged ears and her hair was white too. She had a small halo on the top of her head. She also had an animal face mask pushed to the right of her head.

"Stop it both of you! Malice, you should know by now that is against the rules we made on March 24 and December 12. We honor them, we don't disrespect their choices or what they did, and compare it to the present. The kid could be around and I doubt he would want to see this."

The Malice person growled slowly but nodded. Keo pushed him aside and looked over the 8 people that stood neatly in line.

"Silo, Step up," Ketsuki said calmly

The boy that had been called walked over calmly. He had long wolf ears and 5 long tails. He reminded me of a Kitsune.

"Silo, you're still 3rd in command, correct?" Ketsuki asked, looking at the male kindly.

Silo nodded, holding his hands behind his back respectfully.

Keo thought for a moment before saying.

"Get everyone into the basement and report into that room across from my father's office, I only want to see Silo, Moon, and Malice in there. Quickly. We have a new target." Ketsueki said pointing to my room, Silo quickly went over to the other and led them over. Malice, Moon, And Ketsueki started walking towards my door. I panicked and sprinted back to my room. I ran inside and shut the door as quietly as I could. It took me a bit to process what I had just heard. What was that all about? If I'm not supposed to be here then why did Ketsueki bring me here? None of this really made sense to me. Echo told me to read Ketsueki's 30th entry in his diary, so maybe that will help explain some of this. I walked over to the bookshelves and pulled out the diary from its place. I flipped through the pages until I found the 30th entry.

Diary Entry 30, July 8, 2024

Today, the teams were made and my dad forced me to be 1st in command. I really like this person named Moon. She's so kind to everyone even though no one really likes me. I think she's likely the one who will keep us together.

Malice does not like me at all, he's salty that he can't be on top. He thinks I wasn't threatened and I get everything I want. He's so wrong.

Echo will always be in danger and so will they because anyone who comes in this house is in the cobweb of my father. Stuck like puppets in his grasp.

And there's no escaping the puppet master.

The door opened and 3 people walked in, none of them were Ketsuki. They all walked over to the desk and stood there staring, Staring at me. I closed the dairy, putting it back in its place on the shelf, looking at them all. They were all really tall, except Moon. She looked to be about 2 inches taller than me. She was the only one who was smiling at me kindly.

After a minute or two, Moon rolled her eyes with a small laugh.

"You are both such assholes! Jeez, I'm sorry kid, My name is Moon, 4th in command of Keo's Team. This to my left with the 5 tails here is Silo, They are 3rd in command, and to the right is Malice, they're an assshole, but they're 2nd in command."

She held out her hand after introducing herself and the others, still smiling. I smiled lightly back, taking her hand.

"Why are you guys here?"

"I could ask you the same." Silo growled and I let go of Moon's hands. "Ketsuki brought me here, I don't know why," I answered honestly.

"Silo," Moon said, glaring at him.

"Sorry." He apologized, He seemed truthful about it.

"Well, Keo should be here soon, He had some information on somebody." Moon said, smiling again.

He then walked in, blood covering at least half of his clothes and some of his face. "." He stretched out his wings walking over to me and the others.

"Keo! You should have changed, the kid doesn't need to see the blood!" Moon yelled at him, her eyes darting around along with her wings. She seemed panicked "Lord Keo, Just!-" Moon stopped out of words with a sigh.

"Just whatever, tell the kid why we're here, get it over with."
