I wake up to a knock at my door. I throw on a shirt and race to the door. I fumble my way downstairs and walk to the door. The floor is cold against my bare feet. I unlock the door and open it. I stare, wide eyed at the person in front of me. Fear and anger boil inside me.

"Uncle?!" I say shocked.

"Kid!! Nice to see ya again, we never got a chance to talk after you so rudely ran away...and that was no way to speak to your favourite uncle! Our talk can wait, where's your father??" He speaks as if nothing ever happened.

"He's not here!" I yell at him. "And I need to get to school so just leave and come back later!!"

"Fine kid, I'll be back at 8:00pm sharp!" With that he walks out the door.

I lock the doors and race upstairs. I throw on a pair of jeans but my left foot gets caught and I stumble through my room until I hit my wall and fall to the ground.

"Ughhh"

I get up and jump until my jeans are on. I grab my bag and keys and run out of the house. I run to the school and stumble through the doors, out of breath. I walk to my locker and unlock it.

'Slam!!'

My locker door is slammed shut by Peter and Luke. They start to talk but they look at me and stop. They can probably see how my cheeks are stained with the tears that fell on the way here, the way my face is red, my puffy eyes and my expression. My pained expression, the memories coming back all over again. The night that I had my first kiss...it was supposed to be magical but then he showed up and ruined it! Like he ruins everything!

"Hey...are you okay?" Peter asks softly.

"No...my uncle, he umm...he showed up again" I say sniffling.

"Your uncle?" Luke asks.

"He's done some pretty bad things to my family" I say looking at my locker.

"Oh...can we ask what? You don't need to answer if you want to!" Luke stutters.

I tell them about everything he did. The bell rings just as I finish the story. I pick up my bag and start to turn around. Peter tries to grab my arm but I pull away from his grasp.

"I have to get to class" I say.

I push past people, receiving stares until I'm at the stairs. These stairs can take me away from everyone, no one goes up there but I love it. I put my foot on the first step and the the next. I run to the top and burst through the door. I lock the door behind me and slowly walk over to the edge. I step up on it and sink down so that my legs are dangling over the edge and I'm sitting, sitting on my favourite spot in the entire world. A spot where I can just...just...be alone. I mean, I'm always alone anyway...until Amy. She really did turn my world upside down, when I first heard her soothing voice...well the first word I actually properly heard her say was her name. I laugh remembering the day clearly.

"Okay class we have a new student" Miss says.

A girl with brown hair, pale skin and the prettiest eyes walks through the door.

"Please introduce yourself to the class Miss Vale"

"Hi, I'm Amy Vale" She says.

I sit at the very back of the class, looking at my book. This girl is probably going to end up best friends with the group that constantly bully me. She's pretty enough and seems sweet, they could use someone like her.

"Well Amy, welcome to 9A history, you can sit next to...hmmm... Jackson!" The teacher says.

"Umm I don't know who that is" The new girl says.
