Chapter 16- Marinette

Adrien was standing in front of the crashed roof and started to shout "Marinette! Are you there?" This was loud enough that Marinette could hear it and that voice gave her shivers. Shivers even worse she was having from being completely wet, dirty and crying. She made her as small as possible and was sitting in the corner.

Blood was still running from her left knee, not as bad as before but it did not stop completely so far. Her right ankle looked pretty bad as it was swollen the maximum possible and was also turning red and blue. On Marinette's face the rest of her makeup was under her eyes with traces along her cheeks. The bleeding on her chin stopped but you were able to see that there was blood and she had removed the rest of the splinters.

Adrien tried to find a way over the destroyed roof tiles and kept calling "Marinette! I know you are there! Answer me!" Marinette wanted to cry but was not able and started mumbling to herself "No... No... No... this cannot be true why from all persons in the world he wants to rescue me? I just want to be alone here right now..."

As Adrien found a way up to the top of the crashed roof with bursted wood and broken roof tiles everywhere he couldn't see anything in this pitch black alley. And through the wind and thunder all over he was not able to hear Marinette's crys. He decided to take out his mobile phone and turn on the light to see something.

In the cone of light Adrien was able to see the silhouette of a person but was not sure if this is Marinette or not so he called out loud "Marinette is that you?" At those words Marinette flinched. Adrien approached her slowly and each step he could see her better.

Marinette tried to hide from him and the light. As Adrien was really close to her he said softly to her "Marinette I am worried about you... Let's go to your home, we need to talk please?" Adrien was slowly sitting down. Until now he didn't notice her ankle, her knee or her chin.

Adrien looked over to her, sitting as close as possible, but noticed that she is not looking back and is avoiding him totally. He said quietly and softly "You know I am sorry. I should have told at my birthday party that this is all a lie..." but he was interrupted.

Marinette jumped up with all her remaining force ignoring her pain and tried to run away. Adrien, trying to grab her arm to pull her back, but was only able to grab a piece of her dress. He pulled on it causing it to tear further but much to his shock Marinette lost her balance again, which caused her to fall down again on the ground.

Adrien saw Marinette crash into the ground and noticed now her swollen and blue ankle. He rushed over to her and offered a hand but Marinette slapped it away and said with a sad and crying sound "Leave me forever alone ok? Go back to your future wife... You are only here to make fun of me"

But Adrien didn't want to leave her. Instead of that he approached her and pulled her up. He moved her back to her old seating location but instead of sitting her down he hugged her. Adrien hugged Marinette, first softly but over time he pressed her more and more onto him and said with a sad voice filled with sobs "Marinette I am not gonna leave you... You are a good friend to me... No... More than a friend..."

At those words Marinette lost all her power and slowly was slipping into a sitting position. She said, still shaking by Adrien's words "If you wanna stay fine but I am not gonna move... Go back to your wife..." Adrien interrupted her with an angry subtone "Mari! Stop that now! You know that I never ever would marry Lila, the lying twat right? Heck I do not even love her and before I marry her I would kill myself"

Marinette felt her heart break with each word Adrien said and replied crying "Why would you die? You have everything in your life... And you didn't say no at all when your father promoted it... And also why are you here? I destroyed our friendship on your birthday party when I acted like shit towards Chloe"
