Chapter 25- Adrien's Nightmare

"It was a regular school day. I was late like always but this day was different. Not only I was late but you were late too. You came to school and were pale like snow like you had seen a dead person walking. All your friends including me asked you what was wrong but you remained silent." Marinette said and waited for Adrien's reply which was simple with a silent and calm voice "Go on. I can take it."

Marinette nodded and continued "We wrote an unannounced test before launch break. When the four of us, Alya, Nino, you and me, moved to the canteen to eat. We started to pressure you about what happened but instead you shot an angry look at Nino and stormed off. Nino followed you but came back shortly after with a blue eye and a bloody nose. But the worst was the blood on his t-shirt. Both of you head a heavy fight. When Alya and I saw Nino we asked what happened and he simply showed us a small knife which was drenched in blood."

"Nino explained to us that both of you got small knives as a sign of friendship but in this fight you both tried to kill each other." Marinette said and was interrupted by Adrien "Tell me please what was this fight about." Marinette expressed it with fear in her voice "Nino found out that you were heavily flirting with Alya behind his back. Nothing serious, just a bit of banter. Nino confronted you the night before but you ignored him. Nino did hit you with his knife on your left arm but you hit him pretty badly as your knife was stuck on his side."

Adrien swallowed hard and said "This is just the beginning? And not even the worst?" Marinette was getting cold and said with shivers "Yes. It is just the beginning. You want me to continue?" Adrien pulled her close to give a bit of his warmth and said "Yeah please." "Alya and I tried to get Nino into the infirmary but he rejected and said he wants to kill you. Alya took care of Nino while I followed the blood on the floor and found that you left." Marinette said.

"The blood trail from you which I followed was not much but it also did not stop the longer I followed you. I found you sitting on a bench in the park close to our school. I tried to confront you when an Akuma alert kicked off. As I was standing in front of you. You pushed me so hard to the side that I fell down and twisted my ankle. The next time we saw each other was at the Akuma fight. A former soldier from the military was the victim. His name was 'Mortier' and he was expelled from the army due to false accusations." Marinette explained shaking from head to toe.

"You want to stop? We can continue some other time." Adrien said while rubbing her arm which had goosebumps. Marinette looked at him and shook her head while continuing "He had a small fighting drone with him as a sentimonster, who could fire teasers and rubber bullets but the worst was that Mayura and Hawk Moth also joined him. He, Mortier, was an excellent tactical person. He lured us together with Mayura and Hawk Moth often in ambushes."

"The fight was going for over half a day when we decided to get help and the most suited person would be Rena Furtive and Carapace." Marinette explained while cuddling even closer. Adrien whispered "I know that Rena is Alya and Carapace is Nino." Marinette moved her head to watch him "Since when do you know it? I was always extra cautious." Adrien looked away and said "Remember when Nino was 'Rocketear'? He told me in a quiet second when he thought I would try to steal his girlfriend." Marinette said quietly "I see that is how you found out."
