AUTHOR'S NOTE: French to English translations at the end.

There!

Lost in between people and paintings was the girl. Une fille.

My hands resettled the buttons of my coat as I made my way to her.

"Ah oui, c'est une bonne peinture, non? J'aime les formes et ça...what's the word?- Ah! Yes, va, oui va bien mais...."

Her profile was turned away from me as she examined a painting. The black pants she wore came into view as soon as her long coat ended. The soft curls laid calmly against her back, the locks creasing to an end near her waist.

"Excuse-moi mademoiselle."

Red.

Her red lips are the first thing that comes to mind when I think of that day. The day I met the girl, une fille très belle.

Brown is the second thing I remember, the solid honey brown of her eyes. Ces yeux dans lesquels je regarde quand je me réveille.

After that night, my world was filled with reds and browns. A color combination that should look terrible, after all what good does the murky brown do to the intense and passionate red?

Make you fall in love, that's what it will do. Au moins, c'est ce que ça m'a fait.
