Crimes of Love

My parents didn't warn me enough.

They told me about the crimes that happen in the City of Love,

but not the crimes of falling in love with you.

At first, it was like child's play.

Like how children play with dolls, claiming the girl is the wife and the boy the husband.

It seemed like that at first.

Simple, easy, with no strings attached.

But then, all of a sudden,

It became too real, too fast.

Now what could I do?

I fell in love,

and you simply left.

Now, I stand here by the wayside.

Watching you lure in your next victim.

Playing the same game again with another heart.

To you, it was just a game.

To me, it was everything I could wish for and more.

If only you stayed, then maybe these city's lights would've looked prettier.

With you by my side.
