Burning Flame

Part 29

You wake up in your room and become confused. 'Wasn't I passed out on the couch?' You think and get up in time for school.

As you sit in your desk you couldn't help but feel off. Who were you kidding? Ever since you and your sister had been arguing everything's felt off. You feel your mark hum and look up to see Bakugo looking at you.

You smile at him, earning an eye roll but you knew he was smiling. Class was over in what felt like a flash and everyone headed back to the dorms. You knew at some point you'd need to text your sister but you just didn't want to at the moment.

You decided to call Rumi. The other line rings for a few seconds and you had to pull your phone away from your ear.

"LITTLE DEVIL!!" She yells in the phone making you chuckle.

"Hey bun. Gotta a sec?" You ask.

"Sure honey. What's up and why aren't you calling Scar?" She asks and you sigh rubbing your neck.

"We haven't been on the best of terms ever since she woke up." You say sadly. It seemed like ever since you accepted Lilian's deal you and Scarlet got into more fights.

"Yeah, she told me about that. Listen whatever is going on between the two of you I'm sure you can work it out." She says and deep down you knew she was right but you didn't know how to talk to your sister.

"Order 56?!" You hear someone say and faintly hear Rumi confirm it was hers.

"Listen Little Devil. I gotta go, but talk things out with Scar. It'll all be okay." She says before her goodbyes and she hangs up.

You knew she was right but you couldn't bring yourself to hit your sisters call button. You shove your phone back in your pocket and headed inside.

You tried your best to relax but your mind wouldn't shut off, you throw on a tank top and some shorts and head down to the training area. You put in your headphones and start training. You summoned Lilian trying to understand her power better.

"Focus. If you can't manage a simple portal you will never manage my power." Lilian says walking around you. Since she was more powerful than your other forms, she had half of her spectral form walking around you.

You calm your mind and two portals form around your hands. "Good now hold them open." Lilian instructs and you hold the portals open. Lilian sticks her hand and sees it appear on the other side.

She takes her hand out and smiles. "You can drop them now." She says and you make the portals disappear. You drop to the ground, trying to catch your breath.

"I need more time with that one." She nods, agreeing with you.

You practice a bit more before calling it quits and head off to bed.

You wake up the next morning to your phone ringing. You answer it not seeing who called you.

"Hello?" You ask groggily, trying to shake sleep from your body.

"Hey Sunshine..." You hear your sister say and you snap awake.

"Hey Scar.." You say and hear her take a breath.

"I'm performing a concert today. I wanted to see if you wanted to come see it. You can bring a few of your friends." She says and you look at the calendar seeing that you had the day off.

"I'll ask them if they wanna come." You say and hear her let out a sigh of relief.

"Sounds great. I'll let security know you're coming." She says and you say your goodbyes and hang up.
