You wait for your sister to tell you about her friend and she lets out a deep sigh. "He ran away from home and has never been found. Believe me I've tried." She says and you think for a moment.
"I see. So he just vanished?" You ask as you get lost in thought.
Before she said anything else you feel her connect through the mind link.
"That's not the whole story. The rest I'll have to tell you this way."
You nod showing her you understood before she spoke again.
"Touya was being abused at home, so he ran away. I had told him that I would help hide him until evidence could be collected. But he refused. I haven't heard from him or seen him since. Until recently.." She says and you look at her confused.
"What do you mean 'until recently'?!" You ask.
"Remember the night we met with Dabi for the first time?" She asks.
"Yes. What about it?" You say in confusion.
"I had a relatively short conversation with Dabi before punching him across the warehouse. After that I left for my agency to pick up some stuff. When I went in I noticed a letter addressed to me. Long story short, the letter was from Touya. He told me that he's alive and 'trying to make his way back to me', whatever that means. He also said to not tell a soul about him being alive and in contact with me. The reason I was out so late that night was because I was overwhelmed. Emotionally and mentally. It was so bad that it caused me to go unconscious until the next morning." She says and you were lost for words. You could never imagine losing Shoto like that, it'd kill you just like it'd kill you lose anyone you loved right now.
"Scar I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine losing Shoto like that." You say to your sister as you place a hand over hers.
"Thank you Sunshine. It hasn't been easy, for me or for Fuyumi and Natsuo." She says as she holds your hand.
"I'm sorry for accusing you of staying with Dabi all night that night. I was just so mad at him and the whole situation." You apologize and she looks at you.
"It's understandable why you thought that. I didn't tell you where I was going to be after that." She says and smiles at you before pulling you in for a small hug.
The two of you eat some left over pizza and call it a night.
A few weeks later
Things started to feel like they were going back to normal, minus the connection between you and Shigaraki. You had to put up an act with your friends to make them think that everything was fine.
You worked on trying to communicate with Nephrite as well as continuing your training with the others. Nephrite had proved to be difficult to work with all around, she kept saying that she'd talk to you and that patience was a virtue.
You gave up on your training for the day and flew home. You and your sister start working on dinner and she fills you in on a phone calm she had with Dabi. "So what moves are you going to use tonight?" You ask as you pop a steak piece in your mouth.
"Some of the new stuff. It'll be a mix of my demon abilities and my quirk." She says as she pours some cheese on her steak bites.
"Shigaraki clearly doesn't know who he's dealing with." You say with a smirk and she smiles.
"Damn right. He's going to learn real quick not to fuck with me." She chuckles.
"He really needs to be put in his place. And who better to do it than the number 5 hero." You say chuckling a bit.
