Katie laid in her bed, sobbing. She had slept poorly all night, thinking about the breakup. Her earphones were in her ears, blasting Billie Eilish's saddest songs. She had come home last night by Uber and now mostly the whole valley knew about Katie and Hawk's famous breakup.
Katie stayed in bed all day and it was now 3 pm. She had recieved many messages sent to her about how people felt bad for what she went through. Katie was grateful for all the messages from Moon, Demetri, Annie and Joey but those messages helped her only a little.
Katie moved to her desk to sit there for a while, She began going through her desk and found a folded up, pink piece of paper. She sighed at the paper, remembering what she had written on it long ago when she was 12.
It was a list of promises she made to herself.
1. Buy 3 Alaskan Malamutes
"Yeah, like mom or dad'll ever let that happen..." Katie thinks to herself.
2. Become a famous skater
"I mean, I am pretty good."

6. Never cry over boys. I have better things to do. Girls run the world. The only man I need is Timothee Chalamet.
"Never cry over boys." Katie ponders that promise she made to herself. Her eyes then widen in realization.
"What the fuck am I doing?! I'm crying over a stupid boy!" Katie says. She wipes away the astray tears she had left on her face and runs to Sam's room.
"Hey Sammy, you said there was a party today?"

Katie stood in her room, looking in the mirror at her reflection. She was wearing a cold shoulder, black crop top along with some paperbag black and white striped shorts. She paired her Pandora bracelet along with the outfit and her white converse. As for Katie's hair, she did a half up half down french braid.
Katie also applied light makeup but a deep red lipstick, heavy mascara and dark blue eyeliner. She grabbed her purse and strutted out with Sam, Joey, Demetri and Robby.
No one would have thought that Katie had just gone through a breakup in the past 24 hours. Even if she had, was she going to let that affect her? Hell, no.
