"Let's go, Speed Racer." Johnny says as he enters the Diaz apartment to begin Miguel's training to get his legs back
"I'm gonna work those gimpy legs like a..." Johnny looks around and sees 2 noticeable things. 1, some dude massaging Miguel's legs and 2, his daughter who was extremely pissed off with him.
"Rented mule." Johnny trails off.
"Sorry. I thought you said 10:00 that you'd be alone." Johnny scratches the back of his head.
"Sorry, my Mom gets free physical therapy from work. This was the only time Brayden was available." Miguel explains.
"Mahalo. Be done soon if you wanna wait." Brayden says.
Johnny sighs before walking up to his daughter.
Annie gives him a fake smile before grabbing his arm and saying, "Let's go talk , dad."
"Look, I know I screwed up. Again." Johnny starts to say.
"Dad, you promised Robby you'll be there for him. And yes, I get you went to go help Miguel but you need to sort your priorities." Annie says. "You're a pathetic failure in his eyes, you need to change that."
"Yeah, I realized that yesterday. I went to see him but it ended up the same way it always does." Johnny says.
"God," Annie says, rubbing her head. "Okay, then. Why don't we focus on fixing Miguel and then you focus on fixing your relationship with Robby after that?"
Johnny smirked at his daughter.
"What? What is it?" She asks.
"Nothing, I just can't believe how grown up and adulty you've gotten. " Johnny says and sighs. "It feels like just yesterday I was changing your diapers."
"Dad!" Annie hisses and slaps his arm. Johnny chuckles at his daughter before he and Annie leave to see Brayden still working on Miguel.
"Still no feeling whatsoever." Miguel sighs.
Brayden smiles and says, "No worries. Positive thoughts, remember? You're doing great."
"At letting you lift his legs?" Johnny comments and Miguel and Annie chuckle a bit. But Carmen found Johnny's comment a little... rude?
"Brayden is a specialist in this field. He knows what he's doing." Carmen says.
"Yeah dad, leave the guy alone." Annie adds.
"Mahalo, sister." Brayden says to Annie and turns back to Miguel.
"Slow, deep breaths. Inhale joy and love." Brayden says, calmly.
"You gotta be shitting me?" Johnny comments.
Carmen gives Johnny a tight smile before grabbing his arm. "Johnny... can I talk to you?"
