The All-Valley had taken place exactly 24 hours ago.
24 hours ago, it was one of the biggest moments of each and every one of these kids' lives. 24 hours ago, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai were announced victors. 24 hours ago, Miguel left to Mexico with leaving only a note. 24 hours ago, Annie left with her father and brother to go look for Miguel. 24 hours ago, Katie and Eli reprimanded their relationship, with a kiss.
To say, in the least, a shit ton of stuff happened, 24 hours ago.
And now, as a celebration, Katie and Eli were out at a breakfast place for a date. It was a lively restaurant with live music playing in the background.
Katie was sipping on her ice tea as Eli ordered some food.
Katie was simply drinking when something caught her eye. Actually, two people to be specific.
Amber and Joey.
Ugh.
Katie and Amber make small eye contact, before pulling away back to Eli.
"Katie, what's wrong?" He asks, subtly looking over his shoulder and seeing what she saw.
"Oh, I'm gonna kill him." Eli announces, getting up but Katie was quick to drag him back down.
"Come on, is he really worth it?" Katie asks.
"No." Eli grumbles. "But I hate the way he treated you."
"So did I, but it's in the past now. I forgave you, didn't I?" Katie smiles causing him to crack a smile as well. "Plus, I heard from Annie that him and Robby both quit Cobra Kai."
"Really? Do you think they're for real, or is it just another scheme in Silver's oh, so perfect plan?" Eli asks and Katie takes another sip of her drink.
"He seems for real, according to Annie. Said she'd never seen him cry so much. And I know, er knew, Joey. He was never to type to cry." Katie explains, studying the couple. "I still can't believe they're together though."
"Neither can I." Eli sighs in agreement. He then takes Katie's hands in his own.
"What?" She asks, a faint smile playing on her lips.
"Nothing, just missed this. Being with you." Eli says and Katie smiles, leaning towards him and placing a peck on his lips.
"Well, I'm here now." Katie says as their food comes.
They take their food and then are approached by a waitress with Amber and Joey.
"Hey there! This is the only table available." The waitress says to the othe couple, pointing at the table next to Katie and Eli's.
Eli begins to get up in a protective manner for Katie but she grabs his arm and pulls him back down. She takes her fingers and rubs his hand to cool him down.
"Oh um, is it going to be a problem?" The waitress asks looking between the couples.
"I don't know, is it?" Katie fires straight at Joey. Joey looks at her surprised but she just raises her eyebrows in return.
"It's fine, thanks." Amber mutters, seating herself at the table, Joey following.
Katie clears her throat, somehow able to ignore her ex-friends sitting right next to her. Meanwhile, Eli's temper was going up by the second.
"Babe." Katie says, drawing his attention to her. She gives him a look and he sighs.
"Sorry." He mumbles as the waitress approaches Amber and Joey's table and they order food. Katie and Eli continue chatting and Amber didn't even try to start something for the first time in forever.
Soon enough the waitress placed the other couples' food while taking Eli and Katie's dirty dishes.
Katie leans her head in the palm of her hand and looks over to Amber who was about to take a bite of her jam covered bread.
Katie gasps, eyes widened and smacks the toast out of Amber's hand before she could eat it.
"What the hell, bitch?" Amber says getting up and as do Joey and Eli, also ready to fight. The waitress comes rushing back as well.
"There's strawberry in that jam. She's highly allergic." Katie says, glaring at both the waitress and Joey.
Joey scoffs and turns to the waitress who has a guilty expression.
"Oh no, miss. I'm so truly sorry." The waitress apologizes.
"You should be more careful." Amber mutters and sits back down.
Something was off with the girl and Katie couldn't place her finger on it. She would have made a scene or started a fight. But she didn't.
Katie sighs and sits back down, rubbing her head. Eli, however, has a proud and smug look on his face.
"What?" She deadpans and Eli chuckles.
"You're such a good person, Kate. If it were me, I may have just let her eat the jam." Eli shrugs, leaning back.
"I don't like her, but she doesn't deserve that." Katie sighs, Amber catching her words.
"Hey." Amber speaks up to Katie. Katie turns to look at her with a tired expression. "Thanks, I guess, for uh, saving my life."
Katie cracks a small smile. "Don't sweat it."
Amber doesn't smile in return but Katie knew. This was a huge step for the girl and Katie was the one to help her with it.
Maybe, just maybe, things were going to get better.

OMG i finally got this out after like three months. Im so so so sorry for the delay. Im just so bored of this book ig. But i will be finishing it completely. I dont wanna leave it just like that because that wouldnt be fair for y'all
