I wake up to a loud cry, coming in over the baby monitor: Violet. My daughter is awake it seems like, and I glance at my husband still very much asleep, he does need plenty of rest. I want him to rest, but Violet probably does need to be fed again. Quietly and carefully, I get out of bed and Tommy rolls over and clutches at my pillow, making me smile. Once in Violet's room, I immediately try and soothe her—

"Shh, its ok my little flower. Daddy's here. Let's check your diaper and get you fed and all." Violet's cries are reduced to fussing, as I check her little diaper...she's pooped and I wrinkle my nose at the smell, but finally she is clean and I change her little outfit causing her to kick her little legs in delight, as I pick her up and take her to Tommy and she starts tugging at my shirt, I know exactly what she wants. "I know your hungry princess; we'll get Mommy to feed you."

I walk into our bedroom to find Tommy still asleep, reluctantly I wake him up. "Tom? Tom...love, Violet needs to be fed." Tommy at last opens his eyes and though still tired, they light up upon seeing me and Violet. Carefully, he sits up.

"Let's get our little flower fed then." Tommy removes his t-shirt, and carefully I hand him Violet who immediately latches on, making Tommy laugh but not hard as not to jostle Violet. "Someone was impatient." I help Tommy support Violet's little head as she feeds.

"She was trying to feed from ME on the way here. Just bloody hungry, not that I'd blame her." I laugh lightly.

"Like I'd said, I think she gets her love of eating from us both." My husband says softly, and soon Violet is full and Tommy carefully burps her. "I would love a shower, guess I'll—"

I cut him off apologetically, "sorry love...but I'll look after her while you shower and take some time for you."

"A-Are you sure? Joe, that's sweet of you. You don't have to!" Tommy protests, as I gently kiss him.

"I want to Tom, it's ok. You deserve it. I love you."

"Love you too, thank you so much for this." Tommy's eyes shine, as gently he kisses our daughter's forehead before handing her to me and gathering clean clothes and towels before heading into our bathroom, and then blows kisses at the door.... god how I love him! I hear the shower turn on and I turn my attention to my daughter and have a 'conversation' with her, Violet pays rapt attention to me---

"Mommy's taking a shower and a wee bit of time for himself, so it's daddy-daughter time now. Oh poppet, I can't believe we brought you home just what earlier this morning? I-I just cannot believe, I mean Violet it's amazing.... you are amazing, I've loved you from the moment I learned Mommy was pregnant with you. You look like us both, already such a happy child, only crying when you are hungry or have soiled your diaper. I remember meeting your mother like it was yesterday...mommy, was hurt...very hurt, I found him...he could have—" I pause getting choked up before continuing, "He nearly died, but Violet, I'd met him years before then...anyway, it my little love was fate finding him and then he slept for a long time, he had to heal inside and out and I brought him home, here to our home...I realized I loved him for a long time and I was determined to always be there in any way. The night he told me he loved me...there was a bad man, who'd hurt mommy...rumors of him and your mother ran, I'd no clue where he'd gone, but I found your mother once again. Violet, true love...indeed ANYTHING in life is worth fighting for. I love your mother more than words can say and now he's given me you." Tears fall, but violet grabs one of my fingers and holds fast to it, her tiny hand so warm and I smile, I continue to talk to her and then I start singing 'Hysteria', my daughter mesmerized.

After a bit, Tommy emerges from the bathroom smelling like Violets his favorite scent and smiles at me and our daughter still in our 'conversation'.

"God, I wish I had my camera...how cute is this?!" Tommy practically gushes, walking over to me and Violet sitting close to me, leaning over to kiss me, and smoothes back Violet's wispy hair. "Thank you for letting me take a nice long shower, I really truly appreciate it as I do everything you do for me and Violet both. Now what did you two talks about?"

"I sang to her: "hysteria" among other things...I told her about how I found you, first found you and our love, how much I loved you...EVERYTHING." I get a little bit misty, and I feel a gentle hand on my cheek.

"I am GLAD you did. I loved you telling her how we met, even though I hurt for so long...Joe, I'm telling you now, all that was worth it...it led me to you, it saved my life meeting you and here we are in this moment, with our daughter, married and so in love...my point my love is if I had to go thru all of that again, I would do it in an heart-beat. You are my angel Joe, my beloved angel and now we have our little princess." Tommy is crying and so am I. We wind up taking our daughter downstairs and putting her in a little mobile bassinet, while Tommy and I discuss dinner as both of us are hungry and of course keeping a close eye on Violet, who is cooing away at us.

"So, ladybug, what do you want for dinner? Something light? Or?" I trail off.

"Waldorf Chicken Salad and maybe roasted sweet potato fries?" Tommy suggests, grinning at me.

"Oi! What about fish and chips?" I tease crossing my arms, "Just kidding love...what you suggested sounds perfect." We work in tandem to fix the food, all the while swapping kisses, making sure Violet was ok...Tommy did have to change her diaper at some point, but surprisingly she didn't cry and before I knew it, everything was done. Violet 'sat' at the table with us, as Tommy and I ate.

"Blimey this is good!" Tommy exclaims, as I raise an eyebrow and smirk.

"'Blimey'? My love how I have rubbed off on you."

More banter follows and more laughter, I swear if Violet could she'd laugh as well. Dinner is soon consumed, and the leftovers are put in the fridge, Tommy holds Violet as we make our way to our couch, me bringing the bassinet settling in.

"Where has the day gone? The time already? I mean she's only a few days old Joe...before we know it, she will be grown." Tommy muses, gently rocking Violet before passing her to me so I can have time with our daughter as well.

"I know love, I know...I love you both so much."

"And we love you too." My husband echoes my tone, as we spend an evening together as a family, my heart overflowing with love.
