A/N: Hello again people- yep still alive! I apologise for having not released much chapters for this fanfic but I have finished my course and hoping to apply for a job now. I still play Dead By Daylight and I do constantly think about this little ship for Jake and Myers. Going to keep at it and one day I'll finish it~
Perks: Lightweight, Saboteur, Spine Chill, Self-care
"Jake! Think fast!"
A small pebble landed on Jake's head and the survivor winced before rubbing the back of his head.
"Hey! Throw the rocks somewhere else!" Jake snapped at Nea who just snickered. She's been really happy lately despite how boring this world was.
"Hell- Adam's perk is hella fun- What's the matter with you lately?" Nea questioned as she joined Jake on the upstairs generator. It was quite peaceful up here compared to downstairs.
"You've been reeaall grumpy lately- I know something's turning in that head of yours." She said and wagged a finger at them. Jake's brows furrowed as she sent them a scowl.
Nea tilted her head back then and let go of the generator to walk around the corner where that chest is. "Alright, keep your secrets-"
As Jake tinkered on the generator's wires, a tingling feeling started on his back and it stayed for longer than he'd like. The survivor got off the generator which was now three-quarters done. Unfortunate but surely Nea can finish it after her box affairs.
Jake went around to the side of the upstairs with a hole in the floor. The locker there he entered and he waited as the killer made their way upstairs. It was almost silent... except for the steps and quiet breathing of The Pig. The unsheathing sound of the blade followed by the sound of a nasty blade connecting on flesh as Nea cried in pain. The floorboards creaking in complaint. Another chase started as the fellow survivor dropped down the broken floorboards followed by The Pig.
Once Jake was sure the killer was gone, he came back out to finish the generator. The sockets pumping quickly as the machine vibrated. As he did so, that chill on his spine remained but this time... it didn't feel like it was the perk. A frown coming to Jake's face as he finished the generator and looked down the crude fence of the balcony. For a moment, he thought he saw that white mask... just... staring.. but when he rubbed his eyes, the killer was gone. The survivor blinked and he cursed. No way he was going downstairs now. Not after that multiple killers incident.
With two more generators remaining, Jake dropped down with a grunt. His knees aching from the fall. How he never broke his legs when dropping down from a height like that was a mystery. He wasn't complaining. Even old man Bill could have the strengrh of a teen in this realm. Then again, how could a small piece of wood hurt six foot tall killers?
A few minutes passed and they were still at two generators remaining. Nea was dead on hook and Jake had received a nice reverse bear trap while at it. The survivor now currently tending to his wounds as he cursed to himself. He had to mend right after that borrowed time hit. Thanks Bill.
Once he patched his lacerations out, Jake began to use his self care. The perk felt a lot slower than usual but his wounds were not mangled. Something didn't feel right about the perk at all. For now, he ignored it though and he healed himself after a short while. He got up onto his feet and eyed the white auras of the jigsaw boxes. Time to play another game...
Without wasting much time, Jake sprinted for one of the boxes and relied on the other survivors to take care of themselves. Without bond, he hoped that his teammates were working on the last two generators.
Jake approached one of the boxes and without hesitation, stuck his hands inside the array of blades and other torturous sharps for his arms as he searched the boxes for a key. The sharp pain of the rusted blades made him grunt and wince as tears formed in his eyes. It hurt like hell.
Feeling around the space, Jake got unlucky and didn't find his key. The jigsaw puppet turning its head to face Jake as it opened its mouth and started laughing at him.
"Fuck you too asshole." Jake cursed at it and before running away to his next one.
The sound of a generator charging up and activating in the distance.
Finally... wait.
Jake's eyes widened when he realised his timer had started, holding his helmet, he sputtered out a few curses. Just then, Nea got downed for the third time which spelled the survivor's demise. He had to hurry.
With three more boxes left, Jake had to make a break for the next one, repeating the same process with his arms as they received a great deal of pain. Every few seconds, the timer beeped and the light switched from white to orange. The survivor now beginning to sweat and another laugh sounded from the puppet at his second box.
"Fuck! Shit!"
Heading for the next one, Jake was about to start it, only to be met with Bill being chased near his target box. That forced him from diverting to a different path and he had to go far for his third box. He wasn't so lucky this time however as The Pig started to chase him with that blade she hid in her sleeve. The timer paused but now he had to deal with her as he was pushed away from his third box.
Jake vaulted a window and ran around to reach the pallet. She was close and The Pig went for a swing but the pallet saved him as it slammed right on her hand. The killer made a small noise and Jake was given some time to run away.
Except, that made him lose chase and the survivor's lovely hat started once again. The beeping now a little faster with an orange light as he was now more than a third of the way with his headwear.
Again, Jake returned to the box. Nea was done for and the killer was lurking around as his heart beat in his ears. He was halfway through his search until she came out of nowhere and swung her blade. Jake let out a cry of pain. He had been desperate to search that box that he hadn't paid attention to his perk. Now the woman hauled him over his shoulder before tossing him right on a hook.
A pained scream left Jake as he hung and fended off the spider-like arms of the entity. The survivor cursing constantly as he watched his remaining two teammates. Bill doing a generator while someone's aura was missing. That was until Feng came out of the locker beside him to give him an unhook.
"Hurry Jake- get that trap off-" Feng told them in urgency and the survivor didn't need to be told again.
"She's going to just tunnel me!" He cursed and Feng Min decided to follow him to give some protection.
"Go do Bill's generator! Get out of here!" Jake ordered as he went back to his box. Feng wincing at the sight but she was insistent on trying to take a bodyblock.
By then, it was too late to go to the final generator as Bill got caught. He too being in his final hook as The Pig carried him off. Jake's timer now beeping rapidly and he cursed. He was going to die either way.
"Go find the hatch dammit!"
Feng really didn't want to leave Jake but she could tell that she had to go before she got injured again. Leaving Jake alone, he didn't get his key from this box which left one more. Not giving up, he ran towards his last box. The timer leaving him seconds but it was too far. When he reached it, he couldn't even finish his search as he listened to the rapid beeping begore the trap did one last long beep.
That was the end for Jake on that match.
