DbD: Jake & Myers

The Campfire

The last match was terrible.

As Jake hung in the basement hooks, Feng and David tried to go for the rescue. The gates were now open too and Meg had left by then, leaving the two other survivors in charge of saving Jake. The Hag however, was having none of it and simply stayed put by the stairs.

It was safe to say that Jake didn't make it out of the trial. Again.

"Sorry Jake-" Feng apologised once the aching survivor dropped down from the sky and thudded onto the ground. The cold dirt a much more welcoming sight than a the hollow grin of that stupid killer.

"I'm going to kill myself the next time I see Hag..." Jake mumbled into the ground, not motivated to move at all but breathing was starting to become difficult.

Slowly, Jake rolled onto his back and stared at the dark and hazy sky. He hadn't seen the sun in so long now that it was starting to bring him down.

"Something's definitely bothering you is there?" Feng pressed in again. The short haired lady sitting on the fallen log as she stoked the fire with a long stick. Her black and cyan outfit having a bit of dirt as she played with a stick she found on the ground. Looks like the others have already moved onto the next match.

At first, Jake didn't say anything as he laid there on the ground until Feng got up and she made her way over to them. The small girl crouching down and giving Jake a pat on the shoulder.

"Come on- spill me some beans. I'll keep it a secret, promise." She said with a smile and then gave Jake a nudge. The burnt out survivor groaning from the pestering.

"Ever had Myers in your game yet?" He asked them and Feng simply shook her head.

"No. Only getting Huntress, Billy, and Nurse but to be fair I prefer them over Hag any day." She said and Jake shook his head.

"No. That's not what I meant." He sighed and then pushed himself to sit up until he could drag himself back onto the log. His body ached from being on a hook for so long.

"I don't think anyone else has been versing Myers recently..." He then added.

"What do you mean by that?" Feng raised a brow and got back up to follow Jake and plop down on the space beside him.

With all the pestering and stupid answers, Jake easily got irritated by Feng and he shook his head before turning away from them.

"If you're not getting it then don't talk to me." He grumbled which made Feng pout and then fold her arms.

"Someone's being a grumpy pants-" She commented, only to get no response from Jake as the guy brooded over the recent events. A cold chill now arriving as the final matches for this day was being played. The campfire starting to burn bright to signal that a new survivor has been abducted.

As a couple minutes passed by, survivors started to return to the campfire one by one. Kate having found a nice guitar to play on from the fog. The girl enthusiastically playing it and making mostly everyone more tired than they are from the long day. Even Claudette looked roughened up. Must've gotten a tough match with the nurse as she rested on the ground and leaned back against the log. With all the chattering of people here, Jake decided to get up and walk away from everyone else. Feng was already distracted and was chatting with Nea and Laurie, and Ace was busy talking with Bill and Adam. No one's gonna notice he was gone.

As Jake went off into the fog, the cold started to bite at his hands and face. His expression dropping as he thought a new event has come. A reminder of the old world that he used to be in. Except, when the fog dissipated, he was met with a new map. Piles of snow and ski boards around. The cold chill in the air making him shiver. Welcome to Mount Ormond Resort.

A/N: Hi guys, I know it's been like... 3 years now. A lot has happened since then and been hitting some rough patches. This story has been just a little hobby for me back in the day but I still love writing and playing DbD as much as before. Just never really had the time. These three chapters have been on hold for a long while too and I don't know why I haven't posted them but here they are if you'd still like to read. I will be continuing this story despite how long I have been gone. Thank you for all the reads ya'll.
