Perks: Lightweight, Saboteur, Spine Chill, Self-care

It had been some time since Jake had encountered Myers. Ever since he saw Michael's real face, he couldn't get it out of his head. Those features had really stuck especially when Michael set that sharp point of his knife by his throat. Sometimes a small prick would come back but he wasn't sure if he was imagining it or his nerves were traumatised. It wasn't even that bad was it?

Shortly after he got into one of the houses, the world spun around him and Jake blacked out, only to find himself into back at the campfire. He never spoke to anyone about it.

"Jake. You keep getting distracted. What's been going on?" Feng asked, nudging the survivor who had been staring at the gen rather than working on it. Feng had paused too, looking at Jake with concern.

Jake only gave a shrug, standing up and looking around worriedly. "It's nothing Feng. Nothing you should worry about." He told her softly and began to walk away from the gen. He wasn't even sure if there was a hex totem for him to take he'd rather work on his own.

As much as Feng wanted to go after Jake and nag him until he spills whatever secrets he's trying to hide, she decided that she'd wait instead. Maybe talk to the rest of the survivors about it. Everything's been odd for a few... days, weeks, months? She couldn't tell time here but certainly something's been up in the fog.

As Jake walked by a harvester, spine chill lit up and he crouched right away as he felt the tingling of the perk's effects. It was a strange perk, yet better than premonition for sure. The fact that it didn't have a cool down helped him a lot more as the perk flashed for him.

To his right was another generator concealed with corn. The usual chest and a nearby jungle gym followed by some trees further to its left. It was at the edge of the map, the border. Best to leave the generator be since Feng has already started on an adjacent one.

He couldn't help but still think about Michael however. In the back of his head his voice was screaming at him to live the game as it is and the other screamed to find the killer again and bombard them with questions. Maybe even slam a pallet down on his head. Jake was angry about it. He gritted his teeth then kicked the cylinder of hay beside the tractor.

"Stupid fucking game..."

The sound of gurgling came to his ear followed by a heartbeat. The Hag came through the trees and towards Feng's generator to which she snagged a hit on the survivor. Feng was almost grabbed then, and she cried in pain as the Hag's claws scraped on her arm. Her sprint burst mixed with the small amount of speed boost from the hit took her far from the generator she had been working on. The Hag however, didn't chase after her and lowered down to the ground as she drew her phantasm traps into the ground. Her terror radius seemed a lot more smaller and it was likely that she was using monitor and abuse.

In the distance, a trap was triggered and almost immediately the killer sunk into the mud, teleporting away to chase whoever stepped on the trap. That was a close call for Jake. He didn't feel like dealing with the killer right now. The noise he had made could've alerted the Hag but luckily she chose over her trap than searching.

Slowly, Jake made his way back towards the abandoned gen, crouching as he approached the spot where the trap was. With a flashlight he could safely get rid of the trap but right now he'd have to make do for being careful around it.

This time, he worked on the generator and repaired it to full. It didn't take long for him to do so as Feng had already done a lot of work by herself. There was no ruin which meant it was much easier to do the objective.

Jake made the mistake to stand as soon as the generator was finished and the phantasm of the trap appeared. A replica of the Hag's petrified features still moved fluently even for being made of mud. Jake made a startled yell and a moment of panic came over him as he ran. At the same time, someone screamed in the distance and the red aura of a downed survivor was revealed.

Jake recognised the figure. It was Feng.

He made a run over towards the downed survivor through the corn fields where the traps were unlikely to be placed. Being near the killer shack unsettled him as it was likely that if anyone was downed there, it would be a basement hook for them. There was no way in hell he was saving someone from there. Especially with this killer.

Soon enough, Feng's aura reappeared just as another generator popped, knocking them down to three generators left. So far the survivors have the upper hand.

"Jake." Meg hissed behind him which made the other survivor flinch.

Jake's brows furrowed as he turned to look at Meg who was watching through the corn for any signs of the Hag.

"I'm going for the save." Jake said and Meg shook her head before gesturing to the hook.

"No you're not." She then pointed towards the shack. "There's a generator in there. Go do that."

"You don't have urban evasion." Jake complained, not wanting to do another generator.

Meg shot Jake a glare and pushed him towards the shack. "Neither do you so shut up and do repairs!"

Jake slapped Meg's hands away and she only scoffed before sprint bursting towards Feng. He lost sight of her through the corn and out of spite, Jake refused to do the generator in the shack. It was sparking, regressed to almost 0% so he saw no point on even touching it. The shack pallet was still there thankfully. A trap right in the middle of it. Jake was thankful that Dwight wasn't in their match. He would've dropped it by now after being scared by the trap.

Beside the boxes right next to the pallet, a dull totem was there and Jake chose to go ahead and cleanse it. The fibre strings of the totem was tightly woven together and that made it harder to dismantle it. Additionally, there was a force around that totem. Like a stronger sense of gravity and every time a dull totem was broken, black smoke and ambers would appear around it. After all, the entity was the one who created these things... right?

Soon enough, Feng was unhooked and no sound of a trap was activated. A generator popped however and then there were two left.

As soon as Jake turned towards the generator, his heart beat went straight to his ears and the Hag's horrid gurgling was in front him. The corn may hide survivors but it still did the same for killers. In this case, Jake hadn't been paying attention to the red stain. Or his perk. "Shit-"

The Hag raised her clawed hand and went for the swing, barely missing Jake's face by an inch just as he dropped the pallet straight on her. Just like that, shack pallet was gone. No doubt Meg and David would be pretty pissed at him for it.

"Why won't you just fucking snap!" Jake shouted at the recently stunned killer and instead of breaking the pallet, she placed a trap right in front of it, giving the survivor ample time to run out the other doorway.

Just as Jake made it outside, another trap triggered that wasn't there before and he yelped as the Hag manifested herself into the clone. Her swing coming a lot faster this time and Jake couldn't dodge. The Hag's large claws cutting through his jacket and ripped up his arm as plenty of his blood spilled into the ground. Sloppy butcher.

He cried out in pain and ran the opposite way with the Hag chasing behind him. Back into the killer shack. With all the thoughts racing in his head, Jake went straight for the fallen pallet. He had completely forgotten the freshly placed trap.

Jake vaulted the pallet then and claws gripped around his neck as the Hag caught him from the triggered trap. Her hollow face and wicked grin staring right back at him as the small killer pulled Jake over her shoulder and took him straight to the basement. The pleasant catch certainly bringing the Hag joy as she hooked Jake at on the furthest hook and placed all of her traps in the basement and all over shack. The place was now a death trap.
