Jake woke up to a migraine. His head throbbed in pain as he slowly sat up, placing a hand on his head. It hurt to open his eyes so he kept them shut. There was talking near him but he couldn't make it out.
Eventually, Jake opened his eyes and was met with Claudette. The survivor having white flowers by her ear as she wiped Jake's bloody arms with a damp cloth. He'd already been healed but the filth was still on him. His once clean clothes having seen better days.
"Ughh..."
Jake groaned as he rolled his head to the side. His head resting on a pile of towels which formed a pillow for him.
"Hi, Jake."
Claudette smiled weakly at them when they woke up. It took a lot of effort for him to open his eyes but when he did, he was greeted with soft candle light around. The survivor resting on a table which Claudette had turned to a bed. The place here looked clean too but occasionally, a drop of water fell from the ceiling. Jake's hearing eventually coming back as he listened to the rain outside.
"Claudette... where-"
"In the Red Forest. Huntress' lodge? Yeah. Crazy right?" The survivor quickly cut Jake off before she laughed awkwardly. Her behaviour being quite strange. Her usually cocky self not being there as she continued to hold a smile.
"Look Jake.. exit gate's open so you should go back to camp..."
"What.. Claudette.. you're not making any sense.."
Jake pushed himself up now so he could sit up. The survivor looking around him slowly as Claudette went up to hold his arms and tug him down.
"Come on Jake- The others are waiting... I gotta see someone real quick-" She told Jake and began pushing them out towards the door and into the rain.
"Exit gate's that way-" Claudette pointed to the direction, right past the smoke house and near the corner of the map.
The survivor ending up frowning as Claudette tapped her fingers together. Why does she have flowers all of a sudden? New stuff? And why did she look so... nervous? Without saying a word, Claudette went back into the cabin without saying another word which left Jake in the cold. The water now starting to soak through his shirt.
Not wanting to stay for any longer, he decided to take a walk towards the exit as he mumbled to himself about the strangeness. He swore he could've just been a match recently but now.. it didn't feel like he had been the whole time. The wet ground under his feet squished but it wasn't as bad as the swamp where it would stick right under him. The grass on this map felt really nice by his ankles as he went back to get this item.
Soon, he reached the exit gate and sure enough, the doors were open wide for anyone to go through easily, through the day in particular.
Jake stared at the exit before looking over his shoulder. He couldn't help but think something else was watching and slowly, he made his way out the exit. It gave him shudders alright. What if someone really was watching him? Who could it have been... Only one person crossing his mind and that made him feel creeped out. Not even Freddy's dreamworld made him this uncomfortable.
Whatever Michael wanted, Jake had no idea what it was.
Jake left Mother's Dwelling. The survivor walking through the woods as rain pattered down. The thin canopy doing little to shield him from the cold rain.
It felt like hours.
Hours he walked through the trees with no campfire in sight. He could've sworn he left the exit but all around him had just been endless trees. Stopping in his tracks, Jake finally looked around and observed his surroundings.
There were no hooks, no pallets and no random structures. It was simply just trees and rocks all around him. The survivor frowning from the lack of objects in this forest.
He rubbed his arm and turned around, thinking about going back. Maybe it had been best to just stay back at the lodge. Cold started to bite at his fingers and soak through his skin as Jake started trudging back. The lone survivor moving his arms around himself as he tucked his nose into his jacket's collar. The fabric no longer smelling fresh but earthy instead.
For a few minutes he could only go on as Jake started to feel tired and freezing. He shuddered as the endless rain continued, forcing the survivor to take shelter under nothing. A large tree not providing any shelter whatsoever as he sat down on the damp ground. The grass provided cushion but the water started to soak through to his rear. What else could he do?
Shivering, he curled up and leaned against the tree by his side. His head resting on it as he closed his eyes to get some rest. Jake hoping that he'd wake up back at the campfire by the time he opened his eyes.
That wasn't the case.
As Jake slept in his exhaustion, quiet footsteps could be heard against the wet ground. Slow and steady as it approached Jake's position. A man stood before them, breathing loudly through his mask.
Without uttering a word, the killer bent down and picked up Jake, carrying the survivor in his arms rather than over his shoulder. The ground beneath his feet making slotching noises as he walked with the sleeping survivor.
