Day 30: (MCD)

Nekoette's PoV:

"Found you Rollo-Kun!" I shout triumphantly before grabbing his arm and tugging him out of a bush.

"Dang it," Rollo scowls, getting to his feet. "What gave me away?"

"Your tail," I giggle, pointing at it.

"Huh? Oh, darn it!" Rollo frowns as his tail disappears. "I still can't control when it pops out."

We walk back to the well where Demitri and Lello are waiting for us.

"Let me guess your tail gave you away," Lello smirks at his twin, acting like he wasn't the first one I found.

"Shut it, Lello," Rollo scowls. "You're just mad that I'm more mature than you."

"You two are, twins," Demitri says, cocking an eyebrow at Rollo. "You do realize that means you're the same age, right?"

"When I get my ears and tail, they will be even bigger and better than yours!" Lello says, crossing his arms.

"As if," Rollo scoffs.

"Hey!" I shout. "If Nekoette~Tan remembers correctly we're playing a game."

"Yeah, alright," Lello and Rollo mumble in unison.

"Great," I smile. "Now since Nekoette~Tan found Lello first It's his turn to be the seeker."

"Alright," Lello sighs. "Count to thirty right?"

"Yep," Demitri nods.

Lello grumbles something before turning around and covering his eyes with his hands. "One... two... three..."

Rollo scampers off toward the beach and Demitri rushes to the gate, while I run to the enormous Yggdrasil tree.

I quickly look around trying to find a good place to hide. Why did I run here? It's such an obvious hiding spot. My eyes dart around until they land on Zane sitting next to one of the roots behind the tree.

I gasp and skid to a halt when I see him. Zane looks up from a book he's reading. He rubs his eyes a bit as he loses his vacant expression. "Hey, Nekoette~Tan whatcha doing?"

I lower my eyes and shuffle my feet as my mouth goes dry. "Oh– erm... p–playing hide and seek Zane-Kun."

"Who's seeking right now?" Zane asks, laughing to himself uncomfortably.

"Lello-Kun is," I say. "Nekoette~Tan is looking for a place to hide."

Zane hesitates before looking away for a second and rubbing his chin. "I could help you if you want."

"Erm... okay," I say, cracking a nervous smile.

"Just hide behind this tree root," Zane says, leaning against one of the Yggdrasil roots.

I frown, "But that spot's kinda obvious, Zane-Kun."

"Trust me," Zane chuckles. "As long as I'm here all the other kids will just run away."

I chew the inside of my cheek before reluctantly going behind the root Zane's leaning on. I glance at Zane once more before laying on my stomach and curling up into a small ball. I feel my ears twitch as the sound of footsteps runs up to us. I slowly peek out of my hiding spot and see Lello run around the tree.

Lello looks around before his eyes meet Zane's. His eyes widen before looking down and mumbling something resembling an apology.

"Told ya," Zane whispers to me after Lello runs away.
