There was a soft knock on the door but it still made Julia jump a little as she hung over the kitchen counter waiting for the toaster to pop up. She grabbed her backpack and checked her watch, 6:45. They had about an hour to swap the name tags, that should be enough.
The toaster popped before she quickly grabbed the content and headed out the door, where Eddie was already waiting.
"Morning Sunshine."
"Morning Eddie." She replied as she shoved an warm Eggo into his hand.
"Wha-"
"It's an Eggo."
"Why?"
"Because you're hungry."
"Who said I was hungry?!" Eddie asked confused.
"Just eat up, butter cup."
"Fine...mother." He joked, stuffing part of the Eggo in his mouth as they walked over to the car.
"Good job pretty boy. Oh, by the way! I'm driving."
"And why would I let you drive my car?" He muffled through his Eggo.
"Because you've got your hands full." Julia said.
"With what?" He said looking at his hands.
"Eggo's." Julia responded as she took the car keys from his hands and replaced them with an extra two Eggo's. She quickly made her way into the driver's seat, leaving Eddie rather baffled.
"Come on Munson! We're gonna be late."
Eddie let out a few muffled sounds of protest through his Eggo's as he made his way to the passenger side. Just as he wanted to put his hand to the door handle Julia drove a bit forward, laving Eddie to grasp air.
"Julia!" He muffled.
He took a few steps and tried again, but once again the car leaped forward leaving Eddie to miss the door whilst Julia laughed at the face he made.
"Julia Denver Harvey! I swear to god-"
"Fine, fine." Julia laughed as she reached over and opened the car door for him.

15 minutes later they got to work. Taking out screws and swapping out plates.
"I had kinda hoped this would be less boring." Said Julia, 20 minutes later, as she sat down next to Eddie who was still working one of the screws.
"Yeah, you're right." He chuckled as he took a seat next to her.
They stared into the early morning for a while. Maybe they were still tired, or maybe they just didn't have anything to talk about. But it's was a comfortable silence. The one where you don't feel the need to talk, the one where just being in each other's presents was enough.
"You know, the day that we met?" Julia started after a while.
"I never got to ask you what you had done to end up in the principals office."
Eddie let out a chuckle.
"Mhm, I um..." He clicked his tongue. "I mean it's really nothing special, but I hadn't done my homework in a while in Mr. Mundy's math class. And you know how he can be, and that day I just wasn't having it so I sort of threw a pen at his head. And said something along the lines of "Maybe this will penetrate that thick skull of yours." and he did not appreciate that very much."
