Julia hoist Eddie into the boat and feel back in the process, dragging Eddie with her. She'd hit her shoulder against one of the wooden seats in the boat, but she didn't care. She didn't care Eddie laid on top of her, she didn't care that he was absolutely soaking wet, she didn't care they were still in the boat on the dark cold lake. Julia just cared that Eddie was okay.

She hugged him tightly as they laid, heavily breathing, in the boat. Eddie relaxed into her hug.

"I'm okay, I'm okay." Eddie reassured although he didn't know who needed to hear that more, Julia or he himself.

"You better be..." Julia said softly.

"Don't you ever do that again." She said as Eddie got up.

"I'm definitely not planning to." He said, still in shock, as he helped her up to her feet.

Jason pulled them out of their thoughts and reminded them what had happened. He swam over to Patrick's body and tried to pull him back to shore. The two watched him struggle, unsure what to do. On the waterside stood the third boy. He hadn't jumped in the water but had seen everything happen. All of a sudden, as if a lightbulb went off in his head, he turned around and sprinted away.

Julia swallowed, she know why he had ran away. He was going to call the police, and if Eddie, and she herself, would be found at the scene, there would be no question whether they would be arrested or not.

"We need to go..." She chocked out. "The police are gonna be here any minute."

Eddie turned to her, his eyebrows were pulled together, and his eyes red. They looked at each other, Julia wiped her eyes and sniffed as she quietly grabbed an oar. It took Eddie a few seconds but he eventually grabbed the other oar, before helping her paddle to the other side of the lake.

_

They had reached shore and hid the boat in some bushes. Julia looked over to the other side of the lake, through the dark she could see the lights of police cars pulling up. Eddie saw it too, he quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her into the woods.

They didn't dare to speak, they were to occupied with their thoughts, reliving the moment as the pictures and sounds flashed through their minds.

They didn't know how long they'd been walking but they eventually reached 'Skull Rock'. Skull Rock was a very popular make-out spot among teenagers since it was nicely hidden way in the woods. The place got its name from the big skull shaped rock that leaned on two other rocks, this way, even when it rained, you'd stay dry.

The two, tiredly, took a seat against one of the rocks and sighed. It had been quite the day.

"So.." Eddie finally broke the silence. "What do we do now? I mean, we have no food, no water, no radio and no plan..."

Julia thought for a second, pinching the bridge of her nose, he was right.

"Wait, we do have something..."

"Please, don't say anything cheesy right now." Eddie groaned as he expected an "at least we have each other" moment.

Julia grinned. "That wasn't what I was going to say... but now that you brought it up-.."

"No, D, please no!" Eddie chuckeld.

"Alright, alright. I just remembered we have this." She said as she pulled a pack of cigarettes out of the front pocket of her flannel. She had found it while searching the house for food, but after putting it in her shirt, she'd completely forgotten about it.

Eddie's eyes lit up, as he quickly sat up straight. "What, how?"

"Rick's, I just remembered, I had grabbed it."
