A few months have passed since I and Jae-Hyun started dating in September, it is now winter.
"Ugh, it's so cold" Hyun-Jung complains as he steps his foot into the thick layers of snow."I hate cold weather," Hae-Won added, "all this snow makes walking so tiring."
"We have to hurry, school is starting soon!" I warned them. Right then, Jae-Hyun ambushed me from the back. Then he took me by the hands, pulling me forward.
"Hurry up! I'll race you to school!" he shouts and we started running in the thick layers of snow.
"Look at them... and they said to be discreet about their relationship" I can hear Hyun-Jung talking to Hae-Won. "I know, right?" Hae-Won sighed, "Let's run too." Hyun-Jung gave Hae-won a mellow look and then put his hands in front of her.
"Shall we?" he asked. Hae-Won grabbed his hand and they ran as well. "Hurry up, dumbass" Hae-Won says, smiling at Hyun-Jung. That was her reply.
{during lunch break}
"Hey," I say to Jae-Hyun whose desk is right next to mine in the last row, "do you want to sneak out to the swings on the hill?" I looked outside, "It's snowing right now."
"Yeah, I bet the view will be amazing," he smirks. Without another word, we grabbed our backpacks and sneaked out of the school. We ran to the metro station and got on the train.
"Haha, those people are staring at us wondering why we're not at school." I laugh about it. "Yeah, and wearing uniforms aren't helping either," he smiles, "but isn't it more fun this way? To sneak out of school?" he asked me and I smiled in agreement.
"Ah, we forgot to tell Hae-Won and Hyun-Jung..." I just remembered, "we're supposed to be eating lunch together!"
"It's fine," Jae-Hyun calmly says, "I already told them." The metro doors open, and we get out at our stop and walk to the swings on the hill. When we got to it, there was already some snow on top of the swings. We pat the snow off and sit on swings and start swinging while enjoying the view.
The snowflakes fall down and fall apart little by little. Randomly, I started humming some lyrics that came across me.
"Snowflakes fall down, and fall apart little by little. I miss you." I sing, "I miss you." Jae-Hyun sings along.
"What was that?" he asks. "It's just a random melody that came across my head," I answer. "It's a beautiful melody, and so are the lyrics." he compliments. From my backpack, I pull out a notebook, the notebook I use to jot down some random lyrical inspirations. He comes closer to me and looks at my notes.
"How many nights do I have to pass to see you?" he sings.
"Huh?"
"The lyrics," he says, "to your song." I write down his lyrics as well.
"Pass the end of winter's cold.
Until the spring day comes again.
Until the flowers bloom again.
Please stay, please stay there a little longer."Inspirations keep popping into our heads. And like that, we spent the whole afternoon on the swings writing down lyrics. It was cold but we didn't care, it didn't matter as long as we were together.
