Chapter 17

"It's all good Yamagucci." I say and we all head in to the gym to start another day.

When we get in there I'm instantly surrounded by the players and all of them start asking me questions. I start getting a bit overwhelmed but Sugamama comes to my rescue. "All of you shut your mouths and give my child space~" he says in a scarily happy voice. (😁🔪🔪) everyone instantly disperses and Suga runs up to me smiling.

He gives me a tight bone crushing hug and says. "I was worried about you y/n! You can't just up and leave like that!" I smile lightly at him and say a small "sorry" which was muffled by Sugas shoulder and the hug that was currently crushing my ribs. "M-mind letting me g-go so I can y-ya know breathe." I comment letting out a breathless laugh.

Suga instantly releases me and laughs nervously while rubbing his neck and apologizes. I smile gently at him and say. "No need to be sorry Suga I like hugs." Then the rest of the group all crowds around us and smiles. We do a group hug Tanaka dragging Tsukishima in with the group.

"Alright now that that's done with the next training camp before the spring high prelims is next week so I need all of you to work out your new moves so we can show them who's boss!" "YA!" Everyone shouts while I confusedly walk over to dad.

Curious I ask. "What training camp dad?" He looks back at me and looks like he just realized something. "Right! I'm an Idiot, I forgot you didn't go to the last training camp! Basically Karasanos rivals Nekoma managed to get our team invited to a training camp a little while before you came along. So now we're going back for the second part of the training camp so we can get better for the upcoming tournament called the spring preliminary! All the new moves the boys have been working on is stuff they learned from the last training camp or something they came up with themselves. Like Hinata and Kageyama who are creating a new quick attack that's why hinata has been staying behind after practice to work on it and during school." He tells me and I nod absorbing all the new information.

"Actually now that I think about it tonight Hinata is going to talk to my dad who was the old coach Ukai of this team tonight. You should tag along with him and meet your grandpa!" He adds and I nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds great I can't wait to meet him!"

After our conversation I look around and noticed Nishinoya doing a set for asahi and make my way over. I notice that his position was very slightly off for the set and watched the ball sail too low past Asahis hand. Nishinoya goes all upset for a moment and yells out. "Ughhhhh! That was too low! Sorry Asahi let's try again!"

I make my way over and decide to help Nishinoya get the proper position and then continue to help both of them practicing. Finally I notice as the sun starts to lower in the sky Hinata starts packing up so I say goodbye to Nishinoya and Asahi and run over to him. "Hinata I'm coming with you to grandpas today!" I call out to him and he smiles brightly. "Awesome I can't wait for you to meet him!"

Time skip for the long walk there.

We get there as the sun starts setting and walk to the back of a nice little building. In the back we see a couple of kids playing a practice game and then I see an older man on the sidelines acting as coach and ref for both teams.

Hinata grabs my hand and we both run over. "Grandpa Ukai! I brought someone for you to meet!" Hinata calls out and pulls me next to him right infront of my new grandpa. "Huh? Who's the other shorty munchkin?" I nervously smile and introduce myself. "Um h-hi my names Y/n it's nice to meet you I'm-" I'm cut off by the older man smiling. "My new grandchild I've been waiting to meet you! My son and munchkin here have told me a lot about you!" I smile brightly back at him.

"I've heard about you as well from my team, dad, and Hinata." I say kindly and his smile brightens. "I see you've improved with your speaking. Keishin has told me that you hadn't been talking much at first so I'm glad to see it's gotten better." "Ya I can thank the rest of the family for that and our team!" I say smiling warmly thinking of the help I've had to come so far in just a few weeks.

"I'm glad to see that. I also heard your quite the volleyball coach and player why don't you help me get these youngsters playing a bit better. And not slacking off like you are red shirt otherwise I'll add an extra 10 flying laps to you, got it." Said boy shivered and nodded. "Yes coach Ukai!" He stated then continued his serving with more gusto.

So that's about how the rest of the day went along with gramps, as I now call him, complementing me on my coaching and analysis abilitys. This was apparently a huge thing because he doesn't normally give out complements.

Finally at around 8:30 dad came to get us and offered gramps to come over for dinner. To which I took the liberty of cooking it while dad, Hinata, and gramps argued while watching an MSBY match on tv.

Natsu was with me cooking and papa was watching the game quietly from the corner of the room.

Once dinner I plated everything up and got Natsu to go get everyone for dinner. Which may or may not have been a bad idea on my part because everyone was yelling over her so she ended up yelling at them and kicking Hinata in the shin. Ah yes quality family moment am I right.
