Chapter 2

"Sir instead of sending them to an orphanage I'd like to adopt them." You look at him in complete shock as he says. " If they'd like to, that is." You nod your head, your eyes have a small twinkle in them at the thought. He turns back to the officer smiling happily at him

"So what do I gotta do to make this happen." The officer looks at us and smiles " You'll have to fill out some paperwork but we can make that happen." You look at them and for the first time in 10 years, you feel a small smile plaster itself on your face.

At that moment they bring your dad out and he looks right at your eyes. You can see the anger in his eyes and he quietly and slowly says. "I will make you and these guys life a living hell once I get out."

Your smile vanished as soon as you saw him. You glare at him and your hands curl into tight fists. Everyone is frozen as they watch your reaction. You look like a demon as you speak for the first time. "If you lay one finger on them You'll have to deal with me." Your voice is low but your message gets across quite clearly.

(Your father doesn't know this but you've been teaching yourself self defence since you were 8. In hopes that you could get away from him and protect yourself.)

Even the police look scared of the dark aura surrounding you. Your father starts to shake in fear and shouts. "Y-YOU WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU." He swallows nervously.

With that You calm yourself and whisper slowly looking down. "I apologize for my outburst everyone else." Suddenly you hear a small chuckle and look up. It gets louder to a full on laugh and you look at the man who's going to adopt you. "Hahaha wow kid you really got some guts. Pffft look at how scared everyone is HAHAHA" I look around, somehow this man just made everyone relax and smile, some even chuckle.

You stare at him as he laughs and can't help but have that slight smile come back. -I think I'm actually going to be happy with them.-

you stop staring and look over at the tangerine. He walks over to you, smiling and raises his hand. "My name is Hinata Shoyo, welcome to our family."

You take his hand and nod shyly saying "Hi Hinata I'm y/n." He has a huge smile on his face and he walks over to the man and says. "This is our dad and you'll meet papa soon."

The man looks down at the two of you and smiles "yep I'm dad but if you don't feel comfortable with that then my actual name is Ukai Keishin"

You bow your head to him and quietly say "T-thank you for helping me my name is y/n l/n... Dad." Ukai looks down at you and somehow his smile got bigger.

He puts his hand slowly on top of your head watching you carefully. You stiffen up a bit but make yourself relax as he gently ruffles your hair.

You don't know why but that small gesture made all the fears you'd been having disappear. The small smile you had on grew and your eyes twinkled, showing a little life in your normally dead eyes.

The police officer comes towards us and you don't flinch away this time. Instead you look at him and bow your head. he faces me and Ukai "We've decided that they're questioning is gonna take place next Wednesday if that's alright with you." (It's Sunday night btw) Ukai looks at you and you nod my head. "That'd be fine" Ukai says the officer nods and turns to leave.

"W-wait I wanted to thank you for all your help and being so kind" you say the officer turns and he has a huge smile on his face "Not a problem kiddo." With that he turns and walks out the door.

You look at your new dad and get a little nervous not knowing what to do.

Hinata grabs your hand and you flinch causing him to let go and frown a bit. You slowly grab his hand back and he smiles.
