Anet turns up the music as she gets ready for the gala. Hoping the cool tones of Frank Sinatra singing "Let it Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" would distract her mind from Heller and Maggio.

Knock, knock, knock

"Be right there!" She calls. Finishes applying her red lipstick

Through the peephole she sees Jacob looking as dashing as 007.

She opens the door.

"Mm. Hello, handsome." She leans against the doorway, a vision of a vintage Hollywood star. Her silk robe teasing what lies beneath.

"Wow!" He tosses the roses aside, lunging for her. "We are not going anywhere tonight!"

"Down, boy! Down!" She laughs pushing him back before he could ruin her hair and makeup. "Go give those roses a drink, I'll be right out. I just need to put on my dress and shoes then we can go."

"Do you need a hand?"

"No thank you." She laughs as she leaves him behind. Eyes hungry.

A few minutes later she steps out of her room.

"Well?"

Looking up from his phone, Jacob gapes at the gown adorning his girlfriend. Blue with black lace overlay. Strapless. Deep -deep- plunging neckline.

"Anet. Peyton. Peters." Standing, he reaches, intent on kissing her red lips and maybe...

She leans away, her hands the only breaker between him and her. Coy smile, "Nah-Ah! We've got to get going now."

"Ugh! Tonight is gonna be torture!"

He holds up her jacket for her.

"Not yet. I promised Abby I'd show her my outfit before we leave." She locks the door.

Downstairs...
Anet rings the bell on the desk. "Abby, come see me before I go."

"Holy Frick! Girl, you look AMAZING!"

Anet smiles as she 360's for her friend. "I almost bought it in red-,"

"Blue is perfect for you! And your hair —nailed that '40s movie star!"

"Thanks!" Anet slips into her jacket.

"I hope you have fun tonight, Anet."

"Thanks, I will. What time is that Christmas party? It's tomorrow night right?"

"Oh, it was last night."

"Oh no! I missed it!"

"It's all good, Anet. But I do have a gift for you!"

"Aw! I have one for you too! Shall we exchange them when I get back?"

"Yes, when you get back." Embrace. "You have fun." To Jacob, "I know it'll be hard, but you behave."

That mischievous grin. "I'll do my best, miss Abby ma'am."

Driving...
"I don't think I like that look in your eye."

Jacob staring at her at the red light, envisioning that blue dress hiding under her coat. "Hm?"

"The light is green."

"This snow is piling up fast."

"Good. I like my Christmas's white."

"I have your present by the way."

Suddenly excited, "Can I open it?!"

"Not yet. But I promise you won't have to wait til Christmas for this one."
