Chapter 13 - Calm Before the Storm

Everything seems to have settled down and fallen into place berfectly because I have a wonderful boyfriend who is absolutely too cute for his own good and a best friend living in the same house as me and a pack who respects me.

LIfe is too good to be true at the moment and that means it probably is but I wont dwell on that too much.

I search the lunch room before spotting Lily who is waving frantically at me to come and sit where she is.

I giggle at her immaturity and drag Zayn over to where his Beta and his mate, my best friend, are sitting.

"You took your time." Lily groans as we take a seat.

"You do realize that they were probably making out in a closet for the past ten minutes." Rose comments and a blush colored my cheeks.

"Of course but they could be more considerate and cut the making out time down or she could have even texted me to tell me she was running late!" Lily says in out rage.

"She has done this for the past month and you still over react hun. Calm down before you burst something." Roman speaks up and calms his mate down.

"Well, you know how protective I am over my cousin..." She trails off as she see's the looks she was getting from everyone on the table.

"You guys never cease to amaze me." Zach says, feeling as if he should join the conversation.

"I know right. You are actually nothing like we thought you were. I am terribly sorry for everything we did to you!" Zoe says, starting her usual apologetic routine.

"Darling, how many times do I have to go ever this! I forgive you!" I smiling softly in her area.

"And I am truly thank full to you, your highness!!" She says, laughing at the end and we all join in.

They all know how much I hate being called that but they still do it anyways and I have just gotten use to it.

"So, what are you planning on doing tonight? You guys have been together for a month now. Happy anniversary guys!" Shane says, sending me all the dirty thoughts he could come up with.

"Dude, keep your thoughts to yourself!" his twin, Zach, complains and everyone starts laughing again though Zayn isn't smiling.

"You know he didn't mean anything like that honey." I soothe him.

"Thats not why I'm frowning."

"Then why..." I follow his gaze till I see him looking at Brittany.

My heart drops.

"Oh." I say and look down at my food. 

By now the table had gone silent.

"No! Your taking it the wrong way! I am just wondering why she keeps sending you guilty looks. I am just wondering what is going on."

I sigh, not really wanting to but I offer any way.

"Do you want me to see if I could get a read on her?" I ask him.

I can read peoples mind, and I really hate it. I found out that it comes with being a royal white wolf ad have tried to use it as little as possible since I first found out I had it.
