The world was still, stagnant was the word. The mysterious grey fog in varying concentrations touched all continents without exception, leaving behind snoring masses of men, women and children worldwide. In some cases it had caused serious catastrophe as two planes sunk in vast oceans while the pilots and its passengers were lost in a mysterious slumber never to be found again, but one sane man who mysteriously was well - awake and the gas had no effect on him sat grumpy in his office...
SOUTH KOREA, SEOUL.
3: 30 p.m.
3rd. TUESDAY, MARCH, 2020.
Chin - Hae glared at his reflection in the mirror, ignoring the feet that scurried along the corridor outside his office.
Did he know what was going on ? Yes, he infact was well aware but being the ' don't care' man he was, he playfully blew a strand of straying hair out of his face then looked at his wrist watch for the millionth time and sighed bored.
The psychiatrist was twenty seven years of age and also a mad genius. Maybe it was for that reason he was sent to care for his patients as his reasoning though brilliant left traces of questions as to whether the man was really sane especially on how he carried out himself and spoke. Chin - Hae was indeed sane much to people's astonishment but he had a rare ability, an ability so hidden that only he, himself knew it and he highly suspected it was what had kept him from slumbering like the entire world did.
He stared at the news article on his table again- the report on NASA about a weird cosmic stone or rather ball shaped object approaching earth. It was said that they are monitoring the movement of the cosmic object but no one really paid attention to the warnings that the NASA sounded concerning the mysterious gas it emitted as it approached and when they did it no one really knew what the gas was until they had fallen into a mysterious sleep induced by the gas from the cosmic object that was nearer to earth than before. Now the situation left him at an awkward position.
Chin - Hae was not sure if he was the only man awake and unaffected from the effects of the gas but there was only one way to find out.
The reports were that the object would eventually pass by but no one knew the effects of the gas it emitted until everyone was stuck asleep. Chin - Hae had already waited for twenty four hours for the damned thing to pass by but instead the gas was growing stronger and if it would go on for a week, everyone would be dead from starvation of both food and water, if not turned into the so believed 'zombies' and going by the sleep walkers that roamed about the corridor outside his office that could also be a possibility after all, who knows the potential of the gas ?
At that moment, a patient banged his head against his door while chewing nothing and Chin - Hae hissed in anger. He was tired of the restless movement of feet and occasional bangs on his door. He would have gone home but bold as he was, Chin - Hae was scared despite how nonchalant he seemed.
He had used his phone, tried to access all social networks but strangely enough that day no pictures were uploaded, no posts were uploaded, no news was uploaded which only meant one thing... The world was stuck in the slumber land.
Realizing that there was only one way left to find if someone had resisted the gas or if anyone could resist the gas, Chin - Hae sighed knowing what he would have to do and so he rested back in his chair and closed his eyes willing himself to sleep.
