SEOL, SOUTH KOREA,

8:40a.m

5th Thursday, 2020.

Chin-Hae took a swig of the Korean ginger tea rolled the beverage around his mouth then swallowed with a cough.

His mood was bitter.

He stared at his room in boredom. In all the years he had always lived alone but for some reason, he could not possible fathom how he felt so lonely at the moment.

“ Ah ! ” He exclaimed, opening wide the door.

Typically, he was supposed to go to work today.

I'm not going anywhere.

Where would he go when it was clear the world was stuck in one big quagmire.

He stared at the melting snow on his porch. He cursed at the weather, it was still cold.

He was cold.

Miserable and sleep deprived.

And lonely...well, he was always lonely anyway but that was besides the point, but was it really ?

Chin-Hae began to ponder.

He was supposed to be happy, wasn't he ?

A self accomplished psychiatrist owning a decent household within Seoul, but he was not at the very slightest. Instead, he was set apart from the society  because of his level of genius which dangerously bordered insanity.

But what clearly is defined as insanity? Who came up with normalcy? Who defined normalcy ? And who set the boundary between what is normal and abnormal ?

Chin-Hae deeply questioned again.

Was the society just hardwired into labelling any from of different abnormal or insane ? Was that it ?

He almost screamed the question.

It was in such moments he wished he was just a normal doctor or lawyer or banker or even teacher minding his business to make ends meet perhaps not so much at the point in time, he would have been stuck in deep slumber that would have most likely resulted in his death.

The thought triggered his mind back to the troubling matter at hand.

What to do ?

What to do ?

What to do ?

A question that most likely ran through the minds of certain individuals each day. He tried running a number of solutions, half of which had failed properly.

Chin-hae decided to light up the fire place, maybe solving one problem would create solutions for others too.

Ding ! Ding !

He jumped.

IMPOSSIBLE!

Chin-Hae dashed back into the warmth of his house to the desktop and clicked on his computer screen. Just as he had hopefully suspected, a notification had popped up within his socials.

He clicked on it.

Troublesome photos of dozing men and women and children too in all manner of positions, different strange places with the caption below :

What is going on world ?

The last photo depicted a dense grey fog like smoke and the caption:

What is this ?

He peered at the location.

DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA 4:00 pm

Chin-Hae did the only logical thing that came to mind.

He sent her a text.
