Ivy slid down the bannister and landed in the middle of the foyer. Her dad was walking past just as she landed. "Hi Petal, where are you going in such a rush?"
"Oh hi,Dad, I didn't know you were home."
"Filming was cancelled because of COVID. Where are you going?" He repeated
"No where, Um Kit is coming round to help with my music," she replied.
"You need to tell me these things,Ivy."
She said, raising her voice slightly, "How am I supposed to tell you if you're never here? I understand you're famous and have a job, but I'm your daughter. I need you. "
Before he could reply, the doorbell rang. "Shit, he's here, dad, don't worry, I'm used to it," Ivy said without looking at him. Ivy opened the door to reveal Kit holding his guitar. He was wearing a red shirt buttoned up with a white top underneath and beige trousers.
"Hey", he greeted.
"Hi, come in. You're going to catch a cold." She pulled him into the house so they were face to-face. They were so close to each other that if they were any closer, Ivy would have been able to hear his heartbeat. She was thankful he couldn't hear hers as it was beating about a million miles per hour. "Let's go to my room. I'll show you what I have. "
The pair walked up the stairs into her room on the top floor. Ivy's room was a light purple. She had a sheet music collage on one wall with her piano and guitar against it. She had photos of her friends from Stranger Things, Marvel, and Heartstopper on another wall. On the back of her door was a large mermaid poster, which made Kit smile widely. She had LED lights around the edge of the room, which were currently purple.
