"Welcome to St. Magic's School! Feel free to pick a seat!" A woman with blue-and-white pigtails and cat ears plus tail greeted us. I guess she is a water cat.

"Ugh, school's gonna be boring as fuck," Penelope complained.

"Language!" I hissed.

"I don't care!" She hissed back.

We were very early, so seats were easy to pick. Peppi kept nudging me and pointed at cute boys and whining about how I should get a boyfriend already.

"Just because you have one, does not mean I should get one!" I grumbled.

"Aw c'mon! If you had one, we could go on double dates!" She flipped her midnight-purple ponytail. I wish I was like her, cool and pretty and confident.

I was about to retort when a male voice spoke.

"'Cuse me, can I sit here?"

I turned around, and almost fainted.

Standing in front of me was the most gorgeous boy I have ever seen. He had perfect hair length, perfect sea-blue hair colour, perfect inky eyes, perfect clothes, and a perfect voice, low but clear. Even his patch of white in his hair, the same as ours, waiting to be filled in with our corresponding colours, was perfect.

"Uh uh uh yeah sure!" I stuttered. Peppi whistled a little.

"Thanks," he said, and sat down in the empty chair beside me. We were silent after that, with me getting hotter by the second.

"Sooooo," I said with an awkward laugh. "My name is Nella, and this is Peppi."

"Sup," Peppi flashed a peace sign.

"What's your name?" I continued.

He studied me for a second, then smiled a little. "Caleb."

"Er... nice name," I blurted out.

"Thanks," he said. "You aren't like the others."

"The others?"

"Yeah, those girls who fawned over me every time I walked past them," he rolled his eyes.

"Uh... are you famous or what?" Peppi asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Finally, someone who doesn't recognise me!" He threw up his hands. "My dad's a light wolf and he's an actor plus a billionaire. I'm his son, and all the girls think I'm some god sent from heaven."

"A wolf? That's the highest form you can get," I said in awe.

"Yeah, and a light one. The most powerful element." He glanced at me. "Anyways, what form and element do you think you would get? I was hoping to be the same as my father, buuut it would probably attract more fangirls."

"I want to be a dark bear like my mother," Peppi studied her fingernails. "Maybe learn some combat as well."

"I... don't know yet," I muttered. "Maybe the same as my mother? She's a dark bunny."

"Nice," he said. Then his eyes drifted towards the door. "Oh god no."

"What?" I followed his eyes. Two girls, one with blond hair and the other with caramel-coloured, walked in. They were wearing matching dresses, matching sunglasses, and a matching smirk.

"Cover me cover me cover me," Caleb ducked under his desk.

"Why?" Peppi raised both eyebrows.

"Will you not be so loud-" Caleb started, but the two girls noticed him already.

"Caleb-baby~!!!" The blond-haired girl drawled. "There you are!"

I heard Caleb groaned a little.

"Don't forget that you have to pick me up to go to the mall at 3:00 in the afternoon!" She giggled. Then her eyes found ours.

"Wait... Who are you two? And why are you sitting with my Caleb?" She demanded. Great, another Karen, I thought.

"For your information," Peppi straightened herself. "He asked to sit with us. And don't even think about making us change seats. We are staying here."

"What, you think you are superior?" The caramel-haired girl sneered. "For your information, Allison here, her parents are both light wolfs. So, you better watch out before she calls them and let them teach you puny idiots a lesson."

"Would you get lost?" I stood up, suddenly having a sense to protect Caleb and Peppi.

Allison opened her mouth to speak, but then the teacher clapped her hands.

"Alright, settle down!" She yelled over the noise. "Allison, Audrey, would you sit over there?"

She pointed at the far right corner.

With one last glare, they went to their assigned seats.

"Thanks," Caleb grunted as he sat up again.

"Wonderful," Peppi rolled her eyes. "Now we have two new arrogant bullies."
