"Caleb, is she your girlfriend?" Mrs Magnificent turned to Caleb. "I told you, you are going to marry Allison!"

"Mom, I told you, she's just my friend!" Caleb sighed. "Calm down."

"I will not calm down when you are with a girl, especially one who's patch is white! Why is that, anyway?" She said. I tried not to feel snubbed and continued smiling.

"Mom, she is just here to study with me, and then she will leave, okay?" Caleb said. "C'mon, Nella. Catherine, can you check on dad?"

"YES!!!!!!" Catherine skated away.

"Humph, fine, but she will not stay for too long," Mrs Magnificent crossed her arms.

"Yeah, yeah," Caleb rolled his eyes. Then he grabbed my arm and pulled me along.

I lost count of how many turns we took until he pushed open a brown wooden door.

The library was ten times larger than the school library. Rows and rows of books lined up in an orderly way. The lights were bright.

"Here we are," Caleb said. "Now, where is the book..."

"Do you have everything in this house?" I asked.

"Pretty much yes."

I wonder how much his parents spent on this house.

"Ah, yes, here it is," Caleb took down one of the books. The book had a tattered spine and cover, and thick as hell. Caleb flipped to the chapter "The Secret Form and Element".

"You can read it," he slid the book towards me.

It was pretty much the same as Caleb said, although some words faded away so I couldn't make them out. I flipped to the part where it said 'powers'.

The Ice Winged Alpha is the most powerful one in the magic universe. Besides freezing objects and creating icicles, it could also freeze a person or one's mind, causing them to not think clearly. Worst of all, it could freeze the universe, shattering-

The passage stopped there.

I flipped to the next page, but apparently it was ripped off.

"What happened to this page?" I asked Caleb.

"Eh, I dunno, it was like this when I read it," he shrugged.

I flipped to the next page, and the next one. All were ripped off.

"Do you know who owned this book before?" I asked.

"The entire library was here when we bought it. Dunno who the previous owner is though."

"Damn it," I muttered.

"Told ya you wouldn't find much about it here," Caleb glanced at me. I sighed.

"Yeah, I guess so."

I decided to let it go. After all, the owner of this power won't likely be me.

"Since you are already here... you wanna go exploring?" Caleb asked.

"I can do that?"

"I'll just have to convince mom and dad, but otherwise, no one really cares."

My face brightened. "Enlighten me."

There were different kinds of room, some huge, some small, some fancy, some plain. There were a banquet hall, a dance room, I lost count of how many living rooms and dining rooms, at least ten bedrooms and bathrooms, and the place where dad does his acting.

"Why does he stay here to act?" I asked.

"Oh, forgot to tell you, he's the director of many acting companies. He used to be an actor, that's true, but now he stays in there to correct scripts and edit and all sorts of things," Caleb answered.

I wonder what his dad look like.

"And finally, here is the training room," Caleb opened a door next to the place where his dad works.

It was a plain room, with a punching bad, some dummies, and some robots at the corner.

"Do you train here?"

"Yeah sometimes. How do you think I can create a blast?" Caleb wiggled his eyebrow. I smiled.

"Just wish I could defend myself," I sighed after a while. "I don't want to rely on you and Peppi and Cath."

"That's what friends are for, isn't it?" Caleb grinned.

                                                         **************************************

When I got back home, Peppi was there.

"Peppi wanted to play with you," My mother said.

"Whatsup?" I greeted her as we went to my room.

"Soooooooooo," Peppi gave me a smug look. "How was your house tour?"

"It was hella huge," I laughed. "And before you ask, no, we did not do anything special, just a house tour."

"Didn't know you could read minds," she chuckled. I rolled my eyes.

"Anyways, I wasn't here because of this," Her smile faded. "I found out Allison and Audrey also lives nearby."

"You're joking. EVERYONE I KNOW IS NOW LIVING NEAR ME!?" I widened my eyes.

"That's not the point. I'm just... worried. Now they are living here beside you, they will have more chance to torment you."

"But I have you and Caleb, and Cath who has a big ass cannon."

"Yeah, but we aren't with you 24-7."

"So what is your point?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Maybe, you should learn to defend yourself... without powers. Like combat or something," Peppi shrugged.

"Dude, I'm not you," I narrowed my eyes. "They are just bullies, not terrorists."

"Bullies, but bullies who hurt you so bad you can get severely hurt," Peppi said. "Look, I'm taking combat lessons with my mom, and I could ask her to train you as well."

"When?"

"Every day after school."

"WHAT!?"

"Ok, fine, for you I guess three days in a week?"

"Ugh... I'll think about it," I moaned.

"Awesome!" Peppi slapped my back. "Now, since I am here, LET'S PLAY SOME MINECRAFT!"
