It was the first period when the headmasters from the creepy dark school came. Everyone tensed as the door opened. Even Miss Wendy struggled to keep calm.

It was only then I realised how venerable we are compared to them.

A lady and a man stood by the doorway. The lady had very delicate features, with tanned skin and short, dark hair. Her dress left her shoulders bare, and her gloved fingers tapped on her arm. She was very pretty, only if she didn't had such cold and piercing purple eyes. Her wolf ears twitched occasionally.

A dark alpha.

I gulped.

The man picked his sharp teeth with his fingers, and his orange hair and wolf ears seemed to blaze with such warmth. His orange-red eyes with so menacing, it was like a real fire burned from within. He resembled a tiger, with stripes on the face and clothes. A sword, strapped on his back, was sharp and wicked.

A fire alpha.

I started to sweat, partly from nervousness and partly from the heat the man was giving of.

They are both alphas.

Even Peppi lost her usual joke-self. I saw her trying not to cower before them.

"Greetings," the lady spoke with a smooth, velvety tone. "My name is Daisy Winters, and this is Luke Blaze, headmasters of the Association of Dark Magic School. We are here to inspect and check on something, which does not concern any of you. Please continue with your lesson."

I bit my lip as they started walking over, eyeing every student carefully. Miss Wendy continued talking about the techniques of combat, but I didn't hear any of her words.

They reached me, and Luke narrowed his eyes. I hoped against all hope in the history of hope that he would not recognise me.

"Little girl, what is your power and form?" He suddenly asked me, and I jumped.

"Uhm... uh... I-I don't h-have one..." I stammered. He frowned.

"What do you mean you don't have one?" He pressed, his voice deep and threatening. I gulped.

"I-I don't k-know, I-I just d-didn't g-get one when w-we were supposed t-to," I started rambling. "A-and I also p-panicked, but I still don't k-know why, and I-I still didn't g-get my form up t-till now."

"That's impossible!" He was near yelling, and it took all my will and courage not to cower in front of them.

"Luke," Daisy glared at him, then turned to me.

"Come with me," she said, and I dared not to answer no, although I knew that my life was about to be hung above a cliff by doing that.

"What's your name?" She asked. Her voice was gentle, but her eyes were dark and cold.

"N-Nella," I said.

"Nella," she repeated. "Do you know why you don't have a form?"

I shook my head.

"Speak," she demanded, and I flinched, even though her tone didn't change.

"No, ma'am." I didn't know why I called her that.

"Interesting," She nodded.

"Isn't it weird?" I blurted out. She glanced at me.

"Indeed, it is," she answered. "However, everything has a reason. I'll be watching you, Nella."

I didn't answer her. She was staring at me like she knew something that I don't.

"You can go back in," She finally said, and I scurried back in before she said anything else.

"JESUSCHRISTYOUAREOKAY!" Peppi said after class and hugged me tight.

"Yes, I'm fine," I sighed.

"ITHOUGHTTHEYWEREGONNAKILLYOUYOUNEEDTOBECAREFULIDON'TWANNALOSEYOU-" Peppi yelled, but I glared at her and she stopped.

"Jeez, they're gone. Good thing whatever they need is not here," I grumbled.

"Yeah," Caleb eyed me suspiciously.

"Anyways, what are we gonna do now? Those two are gone," I asked.

"Those two bitches aren't," Peppi growled. I glanced over her shoulder and found Allison and Audrey bragging about their new clothes again.

"Never mind those two," Caleb rolled her eyes. "Nella, what did Daisy say to you?"

"Uhm... nothing... just said that she would keep an eye on me...?" I shrugged uncertainly. "But, how? She at the far end of the country."

"She's a powerful sorcerer, she can do anything," Caleb said. "I read about her in a book yesterday. She's famous for her shadows."

"Shadows?" I raised an eyebrow.

"She can control shadows, teleport and walk in the shadows, and also send some of those shadows to spy on people. And that's just the passive part."

"How do you know so much about those people?" Peppi crossed her arms.

"Research," Caleb shrugged. "My library basically has everything you need. Just say it, and there's the exact book you need."

"Really, what about '10 signs that Nella likes-" Peppi said smugly, but I covered her mouth.

"SHUTUPYOULITTLE-" I blushed hard, and Caleb watched us with a confused eyebrow raised. Let me hope that he heard nothing. However, my luck is always very bad, I think I need to wear a four leaf clover around my neck 24/7.

"So, I've been wondering," I said. "I actually have never seen either of you fight for real. Heck, how does this power thing work anyway?"

"And you literally haven't been trained for days now," Peppi said. "Could be a good chance to watch us use our powers."

"I have nothing to do for once," Caleb said. "I'll also come over."

"Sweet!" Peppi squealed.
