The room was filled with shadows, playing around and toying in the moonlight. A tall, tanned women stood, gazing into the moonlight. Her purple dress swayed in the light wind, and her bare shoulders shivered slightly.

Her office door opened, and the shadows sneered at the man who came in. His fiery hair blazed and even his eyes were orange, like they were on fire. His wicked sword gleamed under the moonlight.

The lady turned casually, and raised her gloved hand to the snapping shadows. They reluctantly turned, and played around the lady's short, dark hair.

"Greetings," She gave him a curt nod.

"Your shadows still hate me," he smiled.

"Your fire makes them scared," she answered. "I wouldn't be too surprised."

"Is everything ready?" He leaned on her desk.

"Yes," She sighed. "Tomorrow, the school agreed to give us an inspection and find what we need."

"Good," He growled. "For years, I've searched for the one who wielded it, and now, we finally have a suspect."

"I thought we only allocated that it might be in the school."

"Ah," He chuckled. "I didn't tell you, did I? I have a suspicion who might be the one. Daughter of my worst enemy."

"He's dead, general," The lady frowned.

"And his wife and daughter are still alive," he sneered. "I won't stop until I get my hands on their family, and the street will be red from their blood."

The lady offered no emotion nor expression.

"Is that all?" She asked.

"Be prepared for tomorrow," he smiled.

"I am," she smiled back. "Now, get out of my office."

                                              ***********************************************

"Mom?" I dropped my bag and called out.

Nowadays, school was really boring for me, since I  have the 'no magic, no form' thing going on. I was beginning to feel really left out.

Sure Caleb and Peppi would chat with me, but they at least have powers.

And Allison is still a full-ass jerk.

"Mom?" I called out again. A while later, I heard a thump and my mother came crashing down the stairs.

"Uhm, are you okay?" I walked over.

"Yeah," she grunted. "Just wanted to find my mega-sized syringe. Have a lot of patients  tomorrow."

"Okay..." I raised my eyebrows.

"Hungry?" she straightened and led me to the kitchen. I nodded.

"So, how was school?" She asked while she made me a sandwich. I shrugged.

"Same old boring stuff..." I mumbled. I'm still wondering whether if I should tell me mother about tomorrow.

"Spit it," she eyed me.

"What?"

"Come on, spill it, something happened today," she raised an eyebrow.

I sighed. "The teacher said some... headmasters are coming over to check the school for some... missing things."

My mother tensed.

"What are their names?" She asked.

"Uhm... Daisy and Luke, if I remember correctly," I said.

My mother didn't say anything for a while.

"Mom? Do you know them?" I asked. She put the ham sandwich on a plate and slid it over it me.

"Nella, you need to be careful tomorrow," she finally said.

"Naturally. They teach dark magic and stuff," I took a big bite.

"No, I mean, really careful," she quietly said. "They are there for a secret, and in the wrong hands-"

"Would cause destruction and probably the end of the world, yeah, I get it," I finished.

"Nella, just be careful tomorrow. Don't do anything suspicious and stick with Peppi and Caleb till the end of school," my mother ordered. I nodded.

My phone rang.

I jumped and grabbed the phone out of my pocket. It was Caleb.

"Hello?" I motioned for my mother to keep quiet.

"Hey," he answered. "Uhm, I'm not supposed to call anyone, but are you free right now?"

"Uhm, yes," I said. "Why?"

"I was wondering if you want to walk around in the park," he said uncertainly and I blushed. "We still need to talk, concerning your... situation."

"Uhmuhmuhmuhm," I stuttered. "Uhmuhmuhmuhm."

"Uh... Nella?" Caleb asked. "You okay?"

"YESOKAYSEEYOUIN15MINUTES-!" I said finally and hung up, slamming the phone on the table. My mother jumped.

"Nella, are you okay?" she asked. I nodded, a grin on my face.

"Why the smile?"

"Caleb said he wanted to hang out together in the park," I blurted out. "Is that okay?"

My mother smiled. "Oooooooo... somebody's blushing...!"

"SHUTUPANDSEEYOUTONIGHTBYEEEEEEEEEEE-!" I yelled and dashed out of the door.

                                              ***********************************************

The park was full of people. I stood by the fountain and fidgeted.

"Hello," Caleb appeared behind me and I jumped.

"Jesus, don't do that!" I yelled. Caleb laughed.

"Sorry," he shrugged.

"Okay, so... what did you want to talk about?" I said, walking beside him.

"I... kind of eavesdropped on the principal and Miss Wendy again," Caleb said.

"I'm sorry, you what?"

"They talked a bit more about tomorrow, and apparently, they are panicking a lot."

"That's no surprise."

"They talked about war."

I stopped walking. "What...?"

"A war," he continued. "That happened before we were born. It was between our school and theirs. Everyone in this town helped, but the other side was too strong. Eventually, after years, our side won, but many died."

I blinked. "So, how does that concern us?"

"The thing is," he turned to me. "They are looking for the exact same thing as before the war, and now they have a suspect. If anything goes wrong, we would be going to war again."

"Is it that bad?" I asked.

"Yes," he answered. "You know what they want, and you know you might be the one having it. Heard you got a sign a few days ago."

"Peppi told you?" I sighed.

"Nella, you need to take this seriously."

"We don't even know if I am the one having that power!" I yelled. "Maybe I'm just unlucky, it shouldn't be that much of a coincidence!"

Caleb was silent after that. "The person who changed the tide of the war had the same surname as yours."

I faltered. "W-what? Who?"

"Henry Daniels."

My body went all cold when hearing that name. It was a name I swore not to ever mention while I'm still alive.

"He relates to you, doesn't he?" Caleb raised an eyebrow. I clenched my fists, and ran off without saying anything.
