Lucas awkwardly walked to Gareth and i, we were both frowning at him.
"Hey.. Gareth.. um- girl I don't know."
Gareth looked away
"This is Y/n. She took your place in Hellfire earlier this week."
There was an awkward silence between us for a moment.
"Look Gareth, I'm sorry.. to you Jeff, James and Y/n. I had no idea that Jason was gonna hurt you.. and i was stupid for just standing there."
He said, with a genuinely apologetic tone.
Gareth sighed
"It's alright dude." He reluctantly said, patting Lucas on the back.

"You were gonna tell us what they were talking about back there?" I asked
"Oh! Yeah."

"Wait hold on- you're telling us that theres an alternative dimension where creatures like the ones in dnd exist, and one has come through a gate which a girl with superpowers created, and is cursing people and killing them."

Lucas paused and awkwardly smiled
"Pretty much.."
"I don't believe you. I just- I don't believe you! You know how crazy you sound right??" He said, almost shouting

"I know!! I know it sounds crazy. Nance? Robin? Back me up here." He said despairingly
"He's telling the truth." Said Nancy
"Yeah! A lot of crazy shit happened last summer.. trust me its all true." Agreed Robin.

"Wow.." i said looking at Gareth.
I walked closer to him, he looked very confused.
"I don't believe them either- it would be cool if it was true though? Shall we find out?" I said hopefully
He sighed
"Yeah.. I guess we can go with them. You're right- it would be pretty awesome if there was an alternate dimension." He said, a smile creeping on his face.

I brushed my hand on his hurt one, looking at him, and asking permission to hold it up.
"Is your hand alright? Does it hurt?" I said, gently holding it with my hands
He seemed to stutter a little when he looked into my eyes
"Y-yeah.. its a little better, the pain killers help. I can move my fingers a little without hurting it." He said
I smiled
"Thats good." I said. He smiled back at me.

"Were here!!." Dustin yelled
"The lake? This is where the gate is??" Robin asked
"Lovers lake" Nancy added
"This is confounding.." said Dustin
Nancy spoke up
"Whenever the demogorgan attacked, it always left an opening. Maybe Vecna's the same way?"
We all breathed deep
"Only one way to find out." Steve said grimly

We found an old boat at the side of the shore, and Eddie and Steve helped lift it into the water.
"Robin, Eddie, Steve and Nancy hopped into the boat.
Gareth and I stepped forward.
"Hey hey hey you trying to sink us?" Eddie said, holding his hand up to stop us.
"Oh come on dude that boat holds at least 5 people." I say
"I say children stay here." Added Robin
"We're both nearly 17." Said Gareth crossly.
"I guess they could fit?" Nancy said hopefully
"The more the merrier." Said Steve in a very not merry voice
"What about me??" Dustin whined
"Children. Stay. Here." Said Robin
"Compass." Nancy demanded, holding out her hand.
Steve hopped in to kick start the boat.
"You said 5?!" Dustin complained
"Sorry." Steve mouthed
Robin shouted as we all sailed away
"Bedtime at nine kiddos!"
"Miss you already!"
