6. Secret Confessions

Location: Lifeline Hospital

After 3 hours of surgery, Abhimanyu came out of the OT with Dr Sinha discussing something about the patient and they moved towards Dr.sinha's cabin where Dr.Sinha got seated on his chair and Abhimanyu on the visitor's chair in front of him

"That was a close call but you handled it well. No wonder people call you the best", Dr.Sinha said with a smile

Abhimanyu smiled a little and said, "Well, he should be fine, but In case of any complications, who will be the doctor in charge?"

"Don't worry about that it's my night duty today so I will handle it or give you a call", Dr Sinha assured

"Awesome, I will talk to the patient's family and take a leave.", Abhimanyu said getting up.

Dr Sinha nodded and said, "you will be here tomorrow to check on him right?"

"Of Course", Abhimanyu assured and left from there.

As soon as he was out of the cabin and was moving toward the lift, Abhimanyu felt a sudden warmth in his heart. He didn't feel like leaving this place. He pressed the button on the lift and whirled around looking at the surrounding.

"Why am I feeling so weird here", Abhimanyu thought

'Ding' sound from the lift brought him out of his thoughts and he got into the lift pressing the ground floor.

Night Time, Lifeline Hospital

Location: Dr Sinha's cabin

Dr Sinha was checking the MRI reports of Akshara when there was a knock on his door

"Come in", Dr Sinha said and looked up to see the Aarohi, Kairav and Manish standing

"Please have a seat, I was checking on Akshara's reports ", Dr Sinha said

"So is there any hope doctor", Manish asked with an expectant eyes

"I'm sorry but there isn't, she is just living on life support, no response to any treatment", Dr Sinha said in a low voice.

With a heavy heart Kairav asked, "So the thing you suggested the other day removing her from life support", he further added with a broken voice, "there is no another way around?"

"We cannot let her go, doctor that is not happening", Aarohi said

"Being a doctor yourself, I'm expecting you to understand why I am suggesting this, but it's your decision. There is nothing else there for us to do here. If you want to keep her alive as a living corpse then go for it", Dr.Sinha said

Manish looked at Aarohi and then back at the doctor and said, "I can't let my child suffer like that I will inform you our final decision tomorrow morning"

With that, the trio left the ward

Location :Emergency ward

Aarohi, Kairav and Manish went near Akshara who lay there lifelessly with an oxygen tube attached to her nose, her forehead was bandaged and there was some bruise on her cheeks and hands, there was no sign of any recovery and she stayed hanging to death which can claim her anytime.

Manish stroked her hair lovingly, "My Bachha!"

With moist eyes, Manish said, "I still remember the first time when I saw her in Naira's arms and Naira's words were papa she is your granddaughter. How happy I was when I took her in my arms for the first time and saw my angel smile at me", Manish smiled through his tears remembering that day when he came to his sense after his memory loss.
