Story

Outside the ward:

Aarohi stumbled out of Akshara's room, her vision blurred by tears. The weight of Abhimanyu's words and the sight of her sister in agony pressed down on her chest like a vice. She found herself in the empty hallway, her breaths coming in shallow, rapid gasps.

Her legs gave way, and she collapsed against the wall, sliding down to the cold floor. The sterile smell of the hospital filled her nostrils, intensifying her sense of despair. She tried to steady her breathing, but the memory of Akshara's screams echoed in her mind, each cry a dagger to her heart.

"Akshu... I'm so sorry..." Aarohi whispered, her voice cracking. She clutched her head, the overwhelming guilt crashing over her like a tidal wave. "I failed you... I failed as a sister..."

Her thoughts spiraled, and suddenly, she was back in their childhood home, hearing Akshara's laughter and feeling the warmth of their bond. But then, the memories shifted to darker times – the accident, the blame, the endless arguments. She saw their mumma, Sirat, her face full of love and concern, now replaced with an image of disapproval.

Aarohi's breathing became erratic, and she felt a sharp pain in her chest. She tried to stand, but her legs refused to cooperate. Her vision narrowed, and she felt like she was suffocating. The walls seemed to close in on her, trapping her in a cage of her own guilt and fear.

"Mum... Mumma..." Aarohi's voice was a desperate plea. She saw Sirat's face again, this time with a pained expression. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I wronged her... I wronged Akshu..."

Just then, a pair of gentle hands grasped her shoulders. "Aarohi, look at me," a soothing voice said. It was Neil.

"Aarohi, breathe with me," he instructed, holding her trembling hand tightly , his voice firm yet compassionate. "Inhale slowly... and exhale. Focus on my voice."

Aarohi struggled to follow his instructions, her breaths ragged and uneven. But Neil didn't waver. He continued to guide her, his own breathing slow and deliberate, encouraging her to match his rhythm.

"Good, Aarohi. Just like that. In and out," he said softly, his eyes locked on hers, providing a lifeline amidst her turmoil.

Gradually, Aarohi's breathing began to stabilize, though tears still streamed down her face.

"I... I should have done more," she choked out, her voice trembling. "I failed her..."

Neil shook his head gently unaware of what she did along with staff to distract them he said. "Aarohi, you've done everything you could. You've been there for Bhabhi, and that matters. Blaming yourself won't help her. She needs you to be strong now."

Aarohi nodded weakly, her body still shaking. "I constantly blamed her for Mumma's death," Aarohi continued, her voice breaking. "I told her it was her fault. I pushed her away, tried to take everything she loved. How can she ever forgive me for all that? How can I ever forgive myself?"

Neil's eyes softened with empathy. "Aarohi, guilt and blame can destroy you. Bhabhi needs you now more than ever. Be the sister she deserves."

"I want to but she wont allow me neither would Abhimanyu" Aarohi said with irritation
