9. Stop Chasing Me Abhi

Location: Lifeline hospital

All the Goenka were already in the hospital outside the ward when Manjari and Neil entered the emergency ward. Manjari saw Akshara lying there almost lifeless, her heart broke seeing her pale face and all the IVs connected to her body, she remembered their last conversation, "I would have never done that to you ma, I have given my Naira ma and Sirat ma's place to you"

"I'm sorry beta for not taking a stand that day", Manjari muttered with teary eyes.

Aarohi came to them and said, "He is not listening to anyone nor allowing anyone near Akshu, please aunty make him understand"

Manjari looked at Abhimanyu whose eyes were glued to his Akshu like she is the most prized possession well she is for him. His tear-stained face looked so tired and broken.

With a heavy heart, she went toward her son and called out to him, "Abhi"

There wasn't any response from his side his gaze was fixated on Akshu clutching her hand close to his chest.

Manjari shooked his shoulder and called him out a little loudly to get some response from him, "Abhi!!!"

He looked up with an annoyed expression to see who again disturbed him but his expression softened seeing Manjari and he smiled at her and said, "Ma..."

Manjari was taken aback and was confused seeing him smile at her in such a situation, Abhimanyu carefully placed her hand back on the bed but still keeping his hand on the top of her hand, he turned to Manjari and said, "Ma good that you came, Akshu is angry on me for misunderstanding her...but she won't deny your words you tell her to stop this drama and wake up"

A chill ran down her spine hearing Abhimanyu's senseless talk, he looked like a child who was pleading with his mother to fix his favourite toy, "Abhi you..."

Manjari's gaze fell on Akshara who was in deep sleep, fighting for each breath unaware of the storm which is going around her, she sadly muttered, "This is not fair Khana Ji"

Taking a deep breath she wiped her tears and said looking at her son's broken yet hopeful face, "Abhi no one is faking anything here! You have to get a hold of yourself beta"

Abhimanyu's eyes become moistened hearing Manjari but again a stubborn expression covered his face as if he doesn't want to sink into that reality. He turned back holding Akshu's hand, "Look Akshu, Ma is also convinced that its all true"

"No Abhi this is indeed true", Manjari said

"No", Abhimanyu muttered looking at Akshu

"You denying it won't make it less real", Manjari said sharply

"Yes doctor It has been a month since she is admitted here and in coma please get a hold of yourself.", Dr Sinha tried explaining

Abhimanyu remembered their conversation from their magical date night

Flashback

"Tume khone se dare lagta hai muje, Waada karo Tum humesha forever Mera Sath dogi" Abhimanyu said holding her close.

Akshu replied, "promise! " and sang this line, "Waada Kiya na chodugi tera Sath jaha Tum ho Waha main bhi hu" followed by her melodies giggle

"Akshu has promised me she won't leave my side and she never backs off from her promise she has promised humesha and forever, she has promised" Abhimanyu muttered senselessly
