𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞: too late?

"sooo... should we maybe go out tonight?"

shuhua stood right in front of kazuha's desk as she looked at me with an amused grin. "my mom told me her friend has opened up a ramen place, right near the mall we like to go to!"

"can't.", zuha sighed and wrote down something on her notepad, "i have a family dinner to attend. oh, how much i wish to avoid it!"

"it's fine. i'm busy today as well.", i comforted her.

heeseung looked like he overheard our conversation because i could literally see him stare at me. it was quite obvious when he sat at the wall side and stared at the back of the window side, as if something interesting was placed there.

i managed to throw him a wink before turning to my friends: "we haven't done anything together for a while now. let's hangout next week, shall we?"

"but it's only friday, can't we hangout tomorrow?", zuha asked me after she dropped her pen. shuhua heavily nodded: "i agree! weekends exist for special occasions and a special one would be a hangout with the three of us!"

i don't think weekends were made for that.

"i'm really sorry. we're having a little brother-sister thing tomorrow. i'm not sure about sunday, so i'd rather pass.", i lied. i literally had nothing to do, but my social battery would run out quickly for sure.

kazuha nodded in an understanding manner: "no problem. family first, right?"

i had my hands in my pockets, was whistling an unspecific melody and stared at the sky. today was sunnier than i expected and we really had the audacity to visit a museum. mentally, i already hit myself.

i didn't even notice jieun standing next to me, only when she tucked on my blazer like a little child.

for today, she looked quite mature; neither was her hair down nor did she tie her hair up like she used to. i think her claw clip was the key point of her appearance today. the neat hairstyle gave me a better look on her pretty face, which was adorned with the usual shy smile. and this time, she apparently wore her own blazer, it looked much smaller than the one from last time.

"were you waiting for long? i'm sorry, i just made sure the majority left.", she apologised.

"jieun, you're not supposed to do that. i told you: whoever wants to observe us should do that, i couldn't care less. we are friends after all, aren't we?"

 
the way she blushed was adorable. and the fact that she tried to hide her embarrassed face made my heart flutter. "maybe you're right.", she mumbled and started to walk off.

"hey, wait! i didn't stand outside and waited for you for nothing!", i giggled and chased her. jieun couldn't help it and grinned: "do you really want to go to a museum when we have such nice weather? you must be out of your mind."
