i hated it. i despised this lifestyle.
yujin and i decided to have separate rooms, which i really appreciated. she understood i didn't want to cross any lines and she was totally okay with sleeping alone.
when i got up, every curtain was pushed to the side, letting the sun shine into our unit. based on the silence, i was left alone again; she probably had meetings already.
there i was, standing completely stiff in the middle of my living room, looking at my phone. should i text jieun? i wonder what she was even doing yesterday, but it wasn't supposed to be my concern since we broke up. it still bothered me that she chose jake among all the boys she knew though.
"this is so annoying.", i groaned and kicked the couch.
"morning, heeseung.", yujin suddenly greeted me as she walked out of the kitchen. "waah, i didn't know you were here!", i gasped and backed away.
"i was preparing breakfast for the two of us. we also have an event tonight, so i'll go ahead and get my dress. it would be nice if you prepared a suit for yourself, okay?"
"what kind of event is it?" i was confused. since when was an event on our list?
"lee heeseung, you're an actor! it's a charity event where famous people will be gathered!"
"so you're my plus one."
"damn right. i'll get going now, see you later then."
"can you maybe do me a favour?", i hesitantly asked, making her stop.
"what is it? i'll help if i can.", she replied.
"help me talk to jieun tonight. she's surely coming with jake, right?"

"a charity event? and i should go as your plus one?"
i gulped down my coffee as i watched jake in disbelief. "i don't even have a decent dress."
"then we'll buy you one, love.", he grinned and tilted his head, "i'm sure there are many pretty dresses and you'll shine in every single one."
"stop it!" we giggled and cleaned up quickly to get ready.
i thought jake might take me to normal stores because it was just a dress for one event, but here i stood, in front of a luxurious building with two bodyguards eyeing us.
"you don't need to be afraid, ji. it's not like they'll bite you."
"i'm afraid of looking at the prices. jake, not even my dad brought me here and i'm actually from a higher class family like you!", i whisper-yelled at him before he pulled me along; that big boy smile plastered on his face.
