Chapter 5: the perfect proposal

The whole mission Goose and Maverick acted weird.
"Hey Phoenix!" Charlie said
"Hi.." I replied
"Girl why are u so depressed?"
"I don't know what's going on with Goose, I think he's avoiding me" I said looking worried
"Oh ok I'm sure it's fine don't worry" she smirked
"You know what's going on don't you?" I asked sitting up, she walked out of the bar smiling from ear to ear, "Charlie! Ugh."

In that meeting, I sat next to Maverick.
"Hey Alissa, why don't we meet at the beach today?"
"Of course plus goose always looks cute playing volleyball" I joked,
"Are you saying I don't?" Maverick said looking sad
"You should ask Charlie, I'm pretty sure she observes you when you play."

At the beach, I saw Goose sat on the sand. I walked over with a smile on my face. "Hunny! Come here" he said hugging me tightly "ready to see me play?"
"Of course I am" I hugged him back and kissed his cheek.
Goose and Maverick played until the sun set, I watched my beloved Goose hit the ball to and from. I could stare at him for hours and never get bored, his blonde hair, beautiful posture, perfect smile-
"Hey? Alissa? Oh my god I've been calling you for ages!"
"Sorry Charlie I got a little.. carried away," I said still staring at Goose
"I swear you've been looking at him for like the whole afternoon" she said
"Well Charlie I don't think you can talk you stare at Maverick about four million times each day" I replied breaking the eye contact between me and Goose. By that time the game had ended and Charlie ran over to Maverick, of course I walked to Goose who was sat on the sand once again.
"Hey hun" I said stroking his hair "how are you?"
"Good thank you" he replied and pulled me up by the arm "can we take a walk?"
"Of course I know the best routes down here!" I said and pulled him along, he smiled and hugged me.

As we were walking we laughed and chatted the whole way there giggling and snickering at the littlest things,
"I love you so much" he said as we sat at the side of the cliff
"I love you too Goose." The sun was setting and it was so beautiful and picturesque, while we lied on the fresh green grass he brushed my long brown hair behind my ear.
"Alissa I have something to ask.." he said looking right in my brown eyes
"Yes?" I said already anticipating what could happen after this,
"Will you marry me?" He said pulling out a small red box
"Yes! Of course!" I said kissing him passionately,
"I love you so much" he said pulling out the ring and picking up my hand, placing the silver diamond ring on my finger daintily.
