Chapter 18: Miracle

The next day, to clear our heads Maverick Goose and I went to the beach to play volleyball,
"Hey iceman wanna go against us you can bring slider" Maverick said laughing "bet you won't win"
"Bet" Iceman said taking off his shirt. I cheered them on from the side, because I had more concerning things to think about, I had been feeling sick for the past couple of days and I think I knew what it was. After the game I heard iceman and Maverick arguing, I looked up from my book and walked over into the heat of the argument. I stood next to goose and asked him quietly "what was the score?"
"6-1 to us Hun, slider got a bit mad, pretty sure I'll get dragged into it soon" he put his arm round me
"Maybe we should get involved and have a little fun, I mean we can win it" I whispered, he smiled in agreement and we walked over.
"Piss off, we won" Iceman said spitting in Maverick's face
"Yeah but iceman it looks like you pissed yourself" I said pointing at his sweat-drenched trousers
"Shut up hoe, you probably want to cheat on that dickhead, goose, with me" he replied winking at me. I was about to go off on him but goose punched him in face making his cheeks bleed and go sore
"Don't talk about my family like that bitch!" Goose held my hand and pulled it so we left, when we sat in the car we instantly forgot about it and started laughing
"He really thought I'd cheat on you with him" I said wiping a tear from my eye "oh he does kill me"
"He really does!" Goose laughed "but then I was like 'dont talk about my family' and punched him I bet he'll be crying off to viper" Goose the mocked iceman, I love him I thought.

The rest of the day we were on a training mission with Maverick,
I flew into an inverted dive and sat above them "hey guys" I said winking through the glass of my plane
"Hey gal" Maverick said looking up at me,
"Anyway I gotta go there's a shithead over there" I said
"How do u know that if u don't have a radar?" Maverick replied
"Oh goose told me, it's private mic"
"I don't wanna know what else he says in that chat"
I could see goose laughing through the glass.
After the mission we headed to the bar singing and talking as we walked, I refused to drink but somehow I passed out on the ground. I woke up with Goose's arms either sides of my shoulders looking down on me, "you ok my love?" He said still staring at me, I sat up and kissed him.

This time when I woke up, goose looked excited
"morning honey!" he said almost bursting with excitement
"morning! What's up?" I said smiling
"We've received news from the hospital, they have found a cure for Charlie she'll be back to normal in the next couple of months!" He hugged me
"We have to visit her after training today," I replied
"Agreed! Come on" he pulled me out of bed and we got to pre flight.
