Chapter 3: Not so secretive

Whilst we were walking out of the cafeteria Maverick looked at us and said "you guys seem a little off"
"Off? What?" I said trying to act normal
"Yeah I don't know what your talking about Mav" Goose said looking at me
"I knew it!" Maverick shouted stopping
"What?" I said looking worried
"You guys are dating aren't you?" Maverick said
"Fine you got us!" Goose said laughing "we are" he said and hugged me.
After that we hung out more than usual and were happier on missions, the pain of keeping it a secret was gone.

The next mission was painful, maverick had an injury which caused him to not be able to pilot the plane that day. I had to pilot the plane with goose in the navigation seat,
"Hey Hunny" Goose said hopping in the navigation seat
"Hey goose, kinda feels weird without Mav," I replied
"I'm sure we'll do amazing, don't worry hun"
"Thank you!" I said, he leaned forwards and grabbed my hands
"Let's go!" He said happily.

We flew around every obstacle Viper had put out for us, hoping that none of us would crash.

"Phoenix don't get worried" goose said looking at his radar
"Will I get worried?" I replied
"Yes, viper is on our tail" he said closing his eyes
"Oh god" I replied accelerating and doing an inverted spin.

"Damn Phoenix, you're so good at piloting, where do you get it from?" Goose said oblivious to my father's fate
"My....father he was a good pilot here at topgun" I said pulling up the plane
"Oh I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean to pry" he said "hunny I'm so sorry"
"It's ok you didn't know, plus I don't think I get that harmed from the memories anymore."

After the mission we sat in the canteen and talked
"Hey hun, why don't we get Mav a present and visit him in his room?" Goose said hugging me tightly
"Of course let's get him some flowers!" I said jokingly, We both laughed and got in Goose's car. While he drove with the roof off he held my hand, I blushed slightly as he kissed my lips softly. I love him I thought brushing his hair behind his ear.

He led me into the shop and we grabbed some white tulips, we payed and got back in the car.

As we walked into Maverick's room, he smiled and waved at us
"Hey man!" Goose said as we sat on Mavericks bed,
"Goose! Phoenix! Love you guys" Maverick said "oh shit what have you got there"
"Nothing much" I said laughing and pulling out the tulips.
"Come on why would I want tulips?" Maverick said
"Because there from us" I said winking at him, goose handed the tulips to him smiling
"Thank you guys" he pulled us in for a group hug.
