"I go to church on Sundays, what about you? are you religious?" Lenora asked randomly as we were walking to her house. "Not really that religious, but me and my mom do go to church on Sundays!" I smiled happy that I will get to see Lenora on Sundays at church as-well as at school!
"Thats great, maybe we can see each-other at church." Lenora had a slight skip in her step as she spoke. "Yes, that would be lovely!" I smiled ear to ear, as I thought about how our friendship would start to blossom. Just from talking with Lenora as we walked I knew she would be a very special friend to me as we started to get to know each other more.
"I can't wait for you to meet my family they will love you!!! Well maybe not my brother just yet, he doesn't trust people when he first meets them." She said rather excited that I will be meeting her family, while I was there being a nervous wreck hoping that I don't embarrass myself in-front of my new friends family. "Oh, wow is your brother protective of you?" I asked her actually curious about what her family was like. "Yes, I would say that when he came to our school, when Gene Dinwoodie started to bully me he beat them up and showed them a lesson." I looked at her with guilt, feeling bad since she has been bullied by these guys for a long time and I knew what it was like to be bullied. "I used to have an overprotective brother, when the bullying at my old school in New York got bad he would talk to those mean nasty girls and warn them if they ever talked to me again he would do something about it." I said trying to show her that I understood her. "Used to? What happened to him?" I gulped as she asked that, it has been a year, but I still felt sad about it. "He um died in a car crash last year." My eyes starting to well up as I thought about the good and bad times me and my brother shared together. "Oh, i'm so sorry Jade im sure he was an amazing brother and really helped you." she said feeling bad that I had to go through losing a family member. I smiled at her as tears had streamed down my face as I wiped them away. "It's not your fault!" I said trying to lighten up the mood. "Don't worry, once you get to know my brother he will definitely protect you the way he protects me." She said reassuring me, as I smiled at her.
"Where here!" she held her arms up in the air waving them as we stood outside of her house. "This is where you live?" I asked as I realised we lived on the same street practically neighbours. "Yeah, why?" She asked hoping I wasn't unimpressed by her house. "I live on the same street, I live at that house right there!" I pointed at my house smiling ear to ear. "OMG, that is amazinggg!" She practically screamed she was as excited as somebody who just met a friend that she hasn't seen in so long. We walked inside her house, it was warm and I liked it. "Grandma, Grandpa meet Jade, she saved me today from those no good boys." She introduced me to her grandma as I smiled at them. "Hello there dear you seem wonderful, thank you for being there for my daughter today, I'm sure she is very thankful and so are we." The grandma said her voice not as clear as a person who was young, but sounded as sweet as somebody could get. "Oh , yes my name is Emma by the way and he is Earskull." She said as she introduced herself to me. "Hello Emma, I'm so happy to have saved your daughter, she is super kind and she is a gift." I smiled as Lenora led me to the couch to watch TV as we waited for her brother.
She wanted me to meet her brother before I left since she really wanted him to like me. It was 5:30 pm and the time kept on ticking. Me and Lenora were flicking through channels as the door opened to their house. Lenora ran to the door and saw her brother standing at the doorway. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Lenora screamed at him as she smacked him on the shoulder. "Out. Sorry Lenora for not picking you up I got distracted with something." he said apologising to his sister. "What did you get distracted with? Another girl?" she exclaimed as if he does this on a regular basis. "Yeah, that is exactly where I was." He said as he walked in the living room. "Arvin?" I looked as if I had just saw a ghost. "Jade?" He had the same expression on his face. "How do you guys know each other?" Lenora asked as she was confused. "I helped her when she was moving here." Arvin admitted. "Well, that's great because Jade helped today with those boys as they were bullying me, she is really sweet and she is my new friend so you're gonna be seeing her a lot more." Lenora proudly said, making a small smile creep onto Arvin's face. He was happy that you were there to help his sister from those no good sons of bitches and he was happy Lenora finally had a friend.
"Yeah, well I got to get going my mom is probably worried sick that I haven't came back home yet, bye Lenora , bye Arvin, bye Emma and bye Earskull." I waved at everyone running out of the house to mine. "Hey darling, your late how was school today?" My mom asked straight as she opened the door. "It was great, I made a new friend she is super sweet!" I smiled making my mom happy. "That's amazing sweetie when will I meet her?" She asked wanting to meet my new friend and her family. "Maybe you will meet her at church on Sunday." I said hugging my mom and running to my room to put my pajamas on and lay in bed as I thought about the day I just had.
