"How does it feel that for 3 years in a row, you are considered the face of the business world?" I like this reporter because I can feel her passion for what she does. She's making feel like she's really interested in knowing what my thoughts are. That's how a great reporter should be, hindi yung basta makapagtanong lang.
I cheekily smiled at the reporter before shrugging. "I deserve it. I mean, have you seen anyone from the corporations and the companies who looks better than me? I'm like the beauty personified so the recognition is just stating the obvious."
If it's still hard for people to understand, I am doing an interview at the moment. I think this girl is from a business magazine, if I am not mistaken, and she's covering me and my recent recognition. We are doing the interview at this posh boutique hotel penthouse unit that exhibits a great skyline because why not? I mean, for sure this reporter will take some photos for the magazine or something so I should not be the only that looks good on the paper. I need my backdrop to be at par with me.
Oh and yeah, I got that face of the business world recognition again. My third consecutive award. Again, as I mentioned to the reporter, this is just stating the obvious but who cares? That's still a recognition so might as well. And the heads of businesses of the country gave me this recognition when they voted for me.
"But someone like Drew Mercado is not just a pretty face. You spearheaded the continuous rise of MHE. You don't just have the beauty, you also have the brains." Now that's too much. This reporter really knows what to say! I mean, I am indeed a beauty who has brains. "But our readers are dying to know kung mayroon bang hindi alam o hindi kayang gawin ang isang Drew Mercado?"
"I may look as if I know everything in what I do but in reality, ang dami ko pang hindi alam. I don't know how to do house chores, I can't fly a plane or navigate a boat. I don't know anything about law making or running a government. Madami pa akong hindi alam." Oh and yes, I really just tried to come up with an answer. Feeling ko kasi I can really do a lot of things.
Hannah, the reporter, asked me a number of questions about the company and what are our plans in the future and all those other boring business stuff. She then said that we may take a short break before continuing the interview so tumayo ako agad and went straight to one of the rooms in the unit so that I could lie down. My back has been killing me for a couple of hours now because of what I think is a pulled muscle. Please remember that I need to talk to Precy so that she can remind me to send a hate message or curse at Hero later.
I am currently enjoying the plushness of the bed when Anna and Precy came in. Tumayo si Anna malapit sa bedside table while Precy and her notebook stayed near the doorway. "Should we book you the hotel's masseur? Kanina pa 'yang sakit ng likod mo, girl."
"Are they good?"
"I have checked the reviews online and people are saying that they enjoyed the service. Some are actually recommending it." Sagot ni Precy that I responded with some nods before agreeing to have a masseur booked. I need a good massage now to get rid of this back pain.
