Tyra Says: Ang tagal ng update 'di ba? Ewan ko ba. I think I have lost my commitment. Or hindi lang siguro ako marunong mag-multi task? I've grown tired of giving you excuses kaya I wouldn't give one now, I would like to just say sorry because I am not able to constantly deliver.By the way, on a more lighter note, I would like to inform you all that one of my stories, Iris, is an official part of WattysPH 2018's long list. Hindi ko alam how the contest works, though. Pero the fact na from almost 13,000 entries submitted for the contest, napasama yung story ko sa top 450, that brings me so much joy and pride. If you wanted to read it, just go to my profile and search for "Iris". Share your thoughts as well!

What a lovely day we have right now.
It's a fine sunny day. The sun is shining mightily enough to give warm to the habitants of this planet without burning them. The towering palm trees that surrounds our not so humble abode welcome the cool and gentle breeze that the northeast winds provide. I knew I had it right when the inner me wants me to wear my Eres Alliages tungstene bandeau bikini when I woke up earlier today. It's the perfect time to sunbathe and chill!
I was under the influence of Ingrid Michaelson while reading a self-englightenment book about motivating oneself. Beside me, placed over a rattan accent table, I have a chilled pina colada sitting pleasantly. Isn't this the ideal life? I'm living the life of a queen. Or rather the life of an empress.
"Phones were made with silence and there's a reason behind it. Try placing your phone on silence para hindi ka naman istorbo sa iba."
I was deeply engrossed with reading when I had to avert my eyes from the book because I saw Mom, who by the way is also basking on the sunlight beside me, inaudibly working with her mouth. I clicked on a button in my bluetooth earphones to place the song I'm listening to on pause to pay attention to Mom.
"Bakit ba ayaw mo sagutin 'yang phone mo?"
"Mom, I have earphones blasting on my ears the entire time. I am supposed to not hear the world." You know, my Mom's biggest opportunity is stating the obvious. I guess it comes with the aging. I mean, Mom's not getting any younger. "Plus, I'm in my ouble le mode state."
Mom casually sipped on her iced tea before reclining back on her chair. "You may try to forget the world but the world will always make a way for you to remember her."
Where in the world did this elderly woman get this profound statement? This is way out of her league but thinking about it, somewhere inside me expects this to happen since Mom recently found interest in giving people deep insights about life.
Hinayaan ko na lang siya and I continued on sun bathing. Mom went back to reading her lifestyle magazine. Aloha vibes on fleek here!
With the serenading voice of Ingrid, I was slowly dozing off from reality to a land where stress and hardship is inexistent but some pestilent and good for nothing mortal started prodding me like that's the only he or she can do.
Apparently, the mortal is Nana Maxi, our ever gentle head of household. Oh and she prodded me with her legendary abaniko. That abaniko has done wonders and that's actually one of the things I didn't like seeing back then.
I groaned in annoyance. "Nana, iniistorbo mo ang rest day ko! Why ba?"
Nasa beywang na ang mga kamay ni Nana at naaaninagan ko na ang mga kilay niyang naka-taas noong tignan ko siya. She looked as if she's expexting me to do something. "Anong why why ka d'yan? Nagpapapunta ka ng bisita tapos hindi mo aasikasuhin? Tama bang pag-uugali 'yan, Drew Mercado?"
