"Good morning ma'am" I heard the valet said as I skidded my car to a halt in front of the office building. I handed him the key to my car after I clambered out of my car with sophistication.
As I take my steps towards the lift, my employees give way to their boss. Each and every one of them greets me but I didn't respond to any. I'm not in the mood to give kindness to every human being that I'll encounter.
Agad tumahimik ang lahat nung makarating ako sa palapag ng aking opisina. They were actually festive a while ago, I faintly heard their laughs as the doors of the elevator gradually open. Someone might have warned them that I'm not in the mood.
Agad akong dumiretso sa opisna ko ng walang pinapansin na kahit sino, even Anna and Precy na naka-tingin sa akin all through out. Upon reaching my office, I took my long kimono cardigan off and threw it on to the near sofa. I called out for a cup of tea right after.
Precy went in with a tray of hot water and bags from my favorite tea. Without saying anything, she placed the tray beside my table. Hinayaan ko siyang umalis ng hindi ako nagpapasalamat.
Everyday, before I succumb myself to the endless pile of business works that I needed to attend to, I make sure that I have read the daily news. Hindi lang para maging updated sa mga napapanahong balita pero syempre para ma-warm up muna ang sarili ko before stressing myself for the whole day.

I decided not to finish reading that broadsheet. I flipped it away and decided to get on with the next newspaper. Hindi ko nga lang alam kung anong meron at bakit halos lahat ng headline sa mga tabloid ay may kaugnayan sa pagiging kabit.

Like seriously? Are we commemorating Mistress Awareness Day today? Lalo lang dinadagdagan ng mga dyaryong 'to yung init ng ulo ko! And hell, why am I even seeing Psychology Today in my daily readings?!
Through the intercom, I called in the attention of Anna at pinapapasok ko siya. Sandali lang din ay naka-rating na siya.
I didn't bother hiding my annoyance with Anna, she already knows I'm not in the mood. "Can you explain to me why do I have a bunch of crap in my table?"
"Those aren't crap, those are your daily dose of current affairs."
"Daily dose of current affairs?" I made no effort in hiding my sarcasm. Wala naman kasing taong maniniwala na sa isang araw, inulan ng iisang topic ang mga pahayagan. That is so ridiculous! "How can extra marital affairs become my main dose of current affairs? And seriously, why do I have Psychology Today on my desk?"
"Hayy. Obvious na obvious na hindi ka aware sa mga nangyayari sa bansa mo, Drew."
Then Anna told me the story behind the headlines. Apparently, may isa palang senator dito sa country ang nahuli mismo ng asawa niyang nangangaliwa. To make things worse, nakita pa pala nung legal wife yung asawa niyang senator pati yung kabit niya on a secluded rural house while they're on the process of fornication. And obviously, ang pangangaliwa ng isang senador ng bansa ay napakalaking bagay na dapat pag-tuunan ng pansin ng lahat above all more important issues of the country.
