For my crimes, I was brought in for interrogation by Ibiki and Inoichi Yamanaka. I tried to be strong. My mind fought to keep myself loyal to my father until the very end. While we didn't see eye to eye I wasn't going to let my father get caught and have to go through the same torture I was going through. The mental and psychological strain all of this was putting on me was starting to wear down my psyche. I assumed that my father would have either known that I would have given up the information willingly or this interrogation would have happened. Either way, I figured it was time for me to stop fighting so much and give up. Inoichi was capable of breaking through the mental barriers I was trying to put up to avoid information being learned about my father or our family. For my crimes, I was put on what seemed to be like a trial. I was brought in front of Lord Third, Lord Danzo, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane. Two Anbu members held me bound in chains to hinder my movements. They kept me close to them worried I would escape if I had the chance. But at this point, it didn't seem as though I had the strength to do so. Even if I had full mobility in my arms, I still would be no match for the power that was in the room around me. They were deliberating on what would be the best option for me. For a while, it seemed as though things were going well for me until Lord Danzo began to speak.
"Ryoko Minashigo did everything in her power to try and keep information from us. She also did not show up to the Fourth Hokage's funeral, indicating she could have been plotting this the whole time. Filled with rage she knew that her father had been performing these underground experiments and planned to use them for her own personal gain. She is a danger to the village. She should serve her time in a facility. While working under my Foundation, she's had the opportunity to gather information and leak it to Orochimaru. I am certain that is exactly what she did. The escape seemed to be almost seamless for him once he parted ways with her indicating the two of them had formulated a perfect plan. She almost wanted to get caught as if to throw us off of Orochimaru's trail."
"He's lying I did nothing like that!" I protested, trying to wriggle my way out of the grasp of the Anbu members. They tightened their grip on my body. Lord Danzo stared at me, his eyes darkened. This was my payment for telling the Hokage about Lord Danzo's ploy to have him assassinated.
"Additionally..." Danzo started as he made his way over toward me. He snatched the top half of my shirt to reveal my father's mark on my honey-toned skin. "She bares Orochimaru's curse mark. We have no idea what this is capable of. It would be wise for her to pay for her crimes in a maximum-security cell. As we can see she is not to be trusted."
Lord Danzo had a way of manipulating people that was uncanny. He could turn two brothers against each other if it meant saving his own skin. It was clear as I gazed at the expressions of Homura and Koharu that they were buying his dramatics. I couldn't say that I was surprised. I dropped my head in defeat. Lord Third had every right to grant me a pardon then and there, but with everything, Danzo was saying it was going to be hard for him to sway the opinions of the two advisors. I was disheartened, Danzo had made all of this up just to get back at me for foiling his plan to rise to power. Danzo was the one who should be in this position, not me.
"If all of this is really true then, that leaves us with no choice. Lord Third, you can't really be contemplating pardoning her can you?" Koharu announced.
Lord Third sighed. "She is nothing but a mere child. She was doing as children do and following after her parent. It is not her fault her parent was not teaching her properly. Does that really elicit a punishment?"
"Except for the fact that she was doing all of this of her own will. It would have been different if Orochimaru was forcing her to do so. If that had been the case, then why was his son still in the village carrying out his duties in the Anbu. Surely, he would have taken both of his children with him in order to secure his escape." Homura added.
