~~~Ryoko Minashigo~~~
For Naruto and I, things were starting to wind down finally. We went on a few small missions here and there. I know I technically wasn't supposed to take him but a lot of the E-class missions have to do with finding a lost pet, finding a lost item, and helping with deliveries around the village. They had a lot to do with your everyday domestic affairs. Which I knew I could protect Naruto from anything that may happen with the two of us helping around the village. People still whispered about Naruto, but I made sure I shut them down real quick. No one is allowed to talk about my brother. So I politely and respectfully told them about themselves. On this particular afternoon, Naruto and I finished up a job. There was a woman stalking us the whole time. She hid pretty well but I could sense her presence. I wasn't the sensory type but I could tell there was someone tailing us. I grabbed a shuriken from my bag and tossed it in her direction.
"Onee-chan... what are you doing?" Naruto questioned me.
"No point in hiding!" I called out to the woman following us.
The woman peeked her head from around the corner. "How did you know?"
"It doesn't matter how I knew, just leave us alone!" I demanded.
"I have to get that little demo-"
I used the shunshine technique to close the distance between us. I had my kunai up to the woman's neck and grasped her body firmly in my opposite arm.
"Leave us alone now." I lowered my voice a few octaves.
"O-Okay! Okay! Just get away from me!" The woman yelled.
I released her from my grip and let her run off.
"Come on, Naruto. Let's get back home." I joined Naruto's side, slinking myself down to the ground so Naruto could climb onto my back. Naruto mounted my back.
"Onee-chan, why do people keep following us?"
I chuckled. "It's because you're so popular, Naruto. But don't let them get you okay. Your my little brother and mine alone. Got me?" I raised up one of my fists towards him.
"I got you, Onee-chan." He responded, tapping his fist to mine.
When the two of us arrived at our apartment, we could see someone waiting at the door for us upon climbing the stairs. His lean figure was resting against the hard oak. He lifted his body up. There was clear joy in his eyes. Kakashi? I thought he had a mission to go on today. Maybe he got the day off. Once, we were at the top of the stairs there was a rather large bouquet of flowers swaddled in his arms. His face had reddened when the two of us approached him.
"R-Ryoko, hey!" He greeted.
I grinned happily. "Oh hey, Kakashi. Whatcha got there?"
"Th-these are for you." Kakashi stuttered as he handed me the flowers.
I chuckled and examined the flowers. They were absolutely gorgeous. The bouquet had an assortment of different types of flowers in it. There were so many vivid colours scattered in the grouping.
"Thank you so much." I reached out to hug him and gave him a soft peck on the cheek.
"Eww..." Naruto twisted his face in playful disgust.
I looked over at him and rolled my eyes. "Let's put these in some water, come inside Kakashi."
I let both Naruto and Kakashi into the little one-room apartment we had. It wasn't very glamorous but we had a place to lay our heads at night, we have food in our tummies and we woke up thankful to be a family every day. I think that's better than having a lavish home or dishes that matched each other or were the same size. We used what we had and it worked for us. No shame in that. Naruto ran off to play with a few of the toys Kujira and I had bought him for his birthdays. Kakashi sat down at the rather nice kitchen table, Kujira built for us. I rummaged through the cabinets to find something that would be sufficient enough to work as a vase. I remembered we actually had a vase! Somewhere in here...
"I thought you had a mission today, Kakashi?"
"No, my squad was given some time off."
"Well that's good, I'd imagine Kujira and Tenzo are off somewhere together?"
"I'd imagine you're right." He walked over toward me and snaked his arm around my waist. "But I'd like to spend my day off with you."
"Ewww..." Naruto commented again.
"Why don't you be quiet?" I retorted.
I had finally found the vase and filled it with water. Naruto's footsteps could be heard from behind me as he approached the two of us.
"If you hurt my sister you'll have to answer to me, y'know?"
Kakashi chuckled and patted Naruto's head. "I promise, you don't have anything to worry about. And Naruto, she was my friend before you were even born." He flicked Naruto's nose.
Naruto groaned. "Yeah but we're family! That makes me more important!"
"Ya know, Momma always said boys would fight over me. I didn't know this is what she meant." I laughed, setting the fully stocked vase on the table to pick up my little brother. "Can I go spend some time with Kakashi, kiddo?"
"Maybe...I don't know Ryoko. I get a bad feeling about this guy." He furrowed his brows at Kakashi.
"Come on, Naruto. Let me go with him and I promise I'll take you on a mission with me tomorrow."
Naruto looked at me with an enthusiastic expression. His eyes lit up and he grinned from ear to ear. "Really Onee-chan!"
"Of course, I will."
"Okay, Kakashi you can take my sister out tonight. But she better be home before sunset."
The two of us laughed. Kakashi agreed to Naruto's terms and I got him ready to be with Kujira and Tenzo while the two of us went out on a date. It had been a while since the two of us had the chance to do something like this. With everything that happened, I was actually starting to get a bit nervous. We had been best friends for so long. It was only recently that we actually agreed to begin our courtship. I could feel my palms starting to sweat a little bit and my stomach churning with excitement. This was going to be so much fun! I could already tell. When I brought Naruto to the apartment Kujira and Tenzo shared. Like most brothers they have a tendency to say some really ignorant things, this is what mine said to me: "You two have fun, but try not to come home with an extra. I know you think, Kakashi is just so irresistible." Don't have siblings, they suck.
