Cornered to Death

We watch in horror for over a minute before sinks in, zombies scaling the building, the closest being around one hundred meters away. Wasn't this building 137 meters? One hundred meters... enough for us to devise a plan. I look over to Willow who dropped her crowbar onto the ground, hands clasped over her mouth.

"Willow it's clear they'll be here soon. We need a plan to escape or fend them off. It looks like there are about thirty scaling the building right now," I say as I look down the side.

It appears they have moved around 20 meters during the time we were talking, which is impressive regarding their lack of life and climbing. I saw the bodies of zombies splatting dead on the ground. Luckily for us, some are falling off, so we won't have as much to fight, though it seems only 10 have fallen on my side.

"We need to let them closer," Willow said with a wisp of realization in her voice.

"Are you INSANE? They'll kill us having such large amounts we won't be able to fend them off." I say desperately. My heart pounds seeing they have less than 30 meters remaining

"We'll let them get close, then knock them down. I'll take North and East; you take South and West." Willow says, positioning herself right next to me. "Where's West?" I ask

"Wherever the sun had set earlier is West. To the left will be South." In times like this, I realize how smart Willow is. I don't deserve her, do I?

An hour, an hour of desperate struggle was what it took us to clear out the zombies that were climbing. It was much easier than head-to-head combat though, so I'm not complaining. I head to the door leading downstairs, Willow doesn't question it and follows along. We made our way down the steps to see the hoard has cleared out. We sigh with relief. I walk over to the sports section and swap my golf club for a baseball bat.

"Willow, that crowbar may become ineffective so better safe than sorry," I say, her response seemed to be dismissive, so I left it at that. We need to find shelter and food.  Then it hit me, a few hundred meters from here, something that could take care of both of those needs. A supermarket.
