Did you?

I watched as Willow slept. Although, she might have just been pretending as I brushed loose strands of her hair out of her face. Her lovely, lovely face, I thought. But the calm didn't last for long. I still need to figure out what that was, I sighed. It was most likely a big stray dog, and at most a bear. Still though, how weird. I don't THINK bears normally attack humans, do they?

If so, we were extremely lucky, whatever it was. Willow shifted in her sleep. "Willow? Are you up?" I made sure to whisper quietly, as quiet as a secret being told. I didn't think she was sleeping, anyway, so what was the big deal?

"Yeah, I'm up. I guess I couldn't really sleep after...that," she told me.

"I know. I get it. It's- it'll be ok," I assured.

"I'm sure it was just an animal," her voice was sure, but her eyes said otherwise.

"Willow, did you get a good look at it? Whatever it was." She didn't respond for a minute. "Willow?"

"No, I didn't. I mean, I saw arms and legs, maybe? But I didn't get a really good look at it," she sighed. I still wasn't really believing her.  She was probably shaken up. And I needed to stop being paranoid anyway. Willow wouldn't even make anything up about this situation. I needed to not worry. I needed to calm down.

"Alright. Do you know where it came from?"

"I don't really know about that either. I'm pretty sure it was in the-the place I was hiding, and maybe I scared it out?" She had tears in her eyes. I don't want her to cry! "I'm sure it's not your fault, and even if it is, you had no way of knowing, right?"

"Right. Right."

"Did you-did you-" I stammered.

"Can we please not figure this out?"

"I'm sorry. I just want to know, is all."

"It's ok." Although, it really wasn't. I looked out the window as Willow put her head on the pillow. And I saw eyes. small, white beady eyes, the same that were apparently plastered onto the face of what we saw in the woods
