<<Prologue>>

"Long ago, in the town hidden in the mountains, there's a mysterious place with a magical family. Encanto.
The town grew over the years, living in peace, away from the outside world's strifes. The founder had three children, each given the powers to help their community. But the best power out of the three, was the one who was able to see the future," the woman then shrugs, "At least, in my opinion."

"But what about the others?"

"The others weren't granted the same gift, but was contented nonetheless. They depend on the magical family on their everyday lives. This caused a few to doubt the hierarchy, seeing them as someone too high above that just because they have powers, they'd have to rule over the normal people.
The only son, whose powers were of future sight, was isolated by his family's pride, labeling him as someone who couldn't help the family due to the negative outcomes that his visions provided. Once introduced to be wed to a lovely woman, the world crumbled between them and their dreams of a happy life were crushed, all because he was the black sheep of the family."

"Hey, that's a little uncalled for," the man chuckles upon entering the room.

"And then? And then?" the child nudged his mother to continue.

"They left. Chose a life away from the magical land. His powers disappeared and he hid far beyond the horizon to be with his new wife, and a new family. He then realizes that powers shouldn't be a label to describe someone, but rather the true soul inhibiting yourself, for how much you'd do anything for others, even if you're put in a bad situation. Gift or no gift, you are just as equal to those around you."

"Should you really be opening this topic now, mi cielo?"

"Better late than never, mi amor."

The child smiles at the loving gazes his parents had for each other, no one could compare their love in his eyes. "Ma, Pa, we will always be together, right?"

His mother chuckles, combing his curly locks with her fingers, "If fate allows it, mi cariño. We would always be with you." It was a double edged answer, which thankfully the child was too young to understand just yet. "Close your eyes now."

"But I don't feel like sleeping, Ma."

"Oh hush. Close your eyes."

He pouted before obeying his mother's words. After a few strokes on his head, Carina started humming the all so familiar tune that ends his days of wake as Bruno hugged his wife by the side. They watch as their little boy grow tired by the lullaby she always sang in his sleep.

This is the story of what was supposed to happen, the life that Carina and Bruno made for themselves away from Encanto. The original timeline that made Angelo exist, and change by the gift that will soon be granted to him, all in year's time.
